The switch to LEDs is transformational. It use to require about 250W to light the main floor of my small house. Now it requires about 20 watts w LEDs. Just a massive difference. Then you add the fact that the heat form those lights does not have to be removed by your AC in the summer, BOOM another gain, then you add the reduction in power from new TVs BOOM, these are pretty big gains.
230 WATTS for a few hrs at night is absolutely meaningless, including your BS about saving on air conditioning,... when the opposite is true, to a benefit in the winter, when lights are on much longer.
Anything using electricity as a form of heat, like toaster ovens, kettles, ranges, clothes driers etc, will consume the difference between led and incandescent bulbs,... in seconds, not hrs.
But lets not deal in reality.
Granny will end up using natural gas to generate electricity to heat houses, which means a loss of efficiency,... because of the energy conversion and transmission loses, instead of using natural gas to create heat directly.
Yep,...sounds like a Fiberal plan.
