Im getting dizzy watching that doom demo, is that how fast people are playing fps these days? His reaction time is like a machine on hyper drive seriously In the time it would take me to peek inside the room and figure out what creature is standing in front of me, that dude cleared a whole room and is on to the next one lol
I don't think so. He is a good player, I'd say above average however not in the best of the best level. He is just moving fast so the monsters cant lock on and shoot him and jumping around going from monster to monster and back to injured monsters inflicting slow damage. It looks fast becuase it is on 60fps. As you can see he dies near the end of the video. I think Doom is finally at an acceptable difficulty level, definitely better then previous fps games I played. Definitely not your kids game or what we're used to from the 90s.
For example I had no issues finishing the wolfenstein games on hardest uber level. I noticed the latest 2015 got harder vs. 2014, however the difficulty was not that noticable from normal to hardest. Doom is way harder then these type of fps games. I consider myself a below average fps player and know that playing doom will increase my reaction time and game play. This game is more about being quick vs. sneaking up and strategy like Arma type of a game requires. Although there is some strategy to fast play. When I was a kid in high school I used to be addicted to minute chess and there were thousands of people playing this from around the world I would stay up untill 5am playing, and believe it or not there was lots of strategy that developed. Yahoo got rid of this, however some people crave this fast action as they perform well under this type of pressure. I am glad doom came out, because there are tons of people around the world that love this fast action type of games and their sales and current popularity shows.
However ultimately I wish they release the game that has everything such as a bit Doom type of game play, good strategy, sneak ability, and a strong story line like wolfenstein. However it is nice just to kill kill deamons and monsters quickly and blitz it out for a quick stress relief and totally focus in and loose all focus of your surroundings. Its amazing how the outside world dissapears when you are this focused in. Just imagine what you can do to a girl once you apply this type of focus on her, and notice all her moves, all her subtleties, her body language, the little things such as her eye movements, the way they dialate, her expressions, what her fingers and toes are doing...man everything dissapears and all you see is her in front of you in your mind and focus in on making the experience the most enjoyable you can, and this gets elevated becuase of feeling nervous being in a such a place as an MP, cheating on your wife, LE, man sometimes my heart beats like 180 bpm doing this stuff, especially when she starts to resonate and the thrill is on.
As for the pros, if you watch some of the competition these pro guys move with lighting fast reflexes and playgames between 60-120 fps. I think average human eye can see something like 80 fps. VR requires 90fps so you dont get motion sick playing the games.
This is way above what I could ever achieve. I can only hope and dream but maybe never reach this. Just look at their eyes and see what they do, its kind of freightening. Like I said I dont think I could ever reach this level, however it is extremely fun to be challenge yourself. I enjoy it so much.
I remember when angry birds came out I got so addicted I was in the top 1% during the first series even to the point of getting acknowledged fromt their twitter, then finished tetris on all levels, then managed to get on top 5 of flappy bird and so on. Each one had different type of challenges, however it was worth it, I don't consider it time wasted.
Its a nice distraction and keeps me away from the MPAs for a while. A mind is such a wonderful tool and its a shame to let it rot and go to waste. You have to keep challenging yourself and these games are completely harmless.
You gotta hit it from all angles....plus what else you gonna do when the wife forgets to spend time with you and watches fucking Big Bang, or Grays Anatomy or fucking Monters Show when kids are asleep...I fucking hate those shit brainwashing shows that remember like 5% after the show finishes...what a fucking waste of time...So I need to prevent a slow death and stuff like MPAs, video games, and romance novels and poetry do wonders for a mind and to keep it active and healthy....
Therefore to answer your question, yes this is becoming the new accepted level of gaming. Doom has definitely pushed the bar one level higher with this one.
