What are good FPS games right now for PC market.

I used to play doom and Wolfenstein a lot back in the days.

The 2015 Wolfenstein looks so sick with nice graphics. What do you guys play? What are some of your faves and what are the new ones to look out for? I want to get back into it, and thinking wolfenstein 2015 might be a good try.

I like these type of games as they help keep you sharp, help with the quick thinking, and decision making and improve your response times. They are also a lot of fun...

Although IMO wolfenstein still looks better to me...like more realistic... DOOM 4 might be the next step plus my system can't handle Doom 4....I might just go with this one.

I suppose that depends on what you are looking for.

Despite all its problems (especially when it was first released) I am a huge battlefield series fan. The latest incarnation battlefield 4 is unmatched imo in terms of online play. 32 vs 32 with big maps and you provide your own tank and air support. Makes call of duty look like a kids game in comparison.

I suppose I should throw Arma 3 a mention. However it is much more of a military simulation with many keys for different functions. It's too technical for me to have fun but ymmv.

Payday 2 is fun however it really requires you to play with friends as robbing banks and killing cops needs some sort of coordination to achieve your target objective.

If you are not a fan of online play the last good story driven FPS I remember playing was bioshock infinite. Pretty graphics and great story. The same could be said for the last two far cry games (3 & 4) as well. Haven't played far cry primal yet, but I imagine it's in the same vein.

Edit: words and stuff

Thanks for the recs, from all your suggestions I am really digging battlefield. it's awesome especially the story line and how you feel the game just from watching the gameplay..I've watched maybe 40mins of game play so far and it's good and definitely something I can enjoy.

Not really digging the other games you mentioned based on the game play videos available.

Right now I am playing Wolfenstein Old Blood and it's good. The fantasy feels kind of real and involved when playing. There is a creative story behind game like an interactive movie plus attention to details is good. I think next I will probably try the latest Halo then battlefield, then back to the previous Wolfenstein, then finally latest Doom.

Man, these FPS type games now days are really fun. I find them relaxing and nice get away for a bit. I get so zoned in and focused that I can feel the game and totally lose focus of my surrounding. Definitely good for the mind to keep it healthy and get away from wife and kids once they all go to sleep...

GTA & Thereabouts...
I've always been a fan of the Battlefield series by EA and DICE. I'm currently playing Star Wars Battlefront on PS4.

I like these games as I can play quickly and not invest a lot of time. I play late at night 1-2 times per week.

The destructible environments and vehicles make Battlefield one of my favorite games.

I loved the previous Star Wars Battlefronts. I can't say I am a fan of the new. I was hyped and bought the Ultimate Edition. Multiplayer experience is decent although it is not without its problems (much like BF4). However what really killed it for me is that there is no single player campaign.
While the previous Battlefronts had a campaign with a story that tied in to the Star Wars universe, the newest incarnation does not. I'm sure that EA/DICE paid a nice bunch of dollars to acquire that Star Wars license and to not include a story to go with it seems like an utter waste.
In essence what we have is a BF4 mod that is Star Wars. Fun no doubt, but definitely not worth the money.

Really good review of Doom after its release....looks like this game hits a lot of areas that make gaming for adults worthwhile. Last time I checked it's already the top of steam. I think gaming has finally hit that sweet area in terms of quality on many levels and making the sum of the parts greater then the whole. The part that I love about this game is the need to have twitch fast reflexes to play it on the hardest level like the reviewer describes it. The latest Wolfestein (2015) was a lot of fun. I finished on normal and then on hardest, however I did not find it that much more difficult vs. the normal. The part that was lacking was that twitch fast reflexes that Doom has. Looks like Doom laks the story line, however makes up for it in the game play. Having spent many many hours playing the original doom in the 90s, I am looking forward to playing it once I upgrade my video card. Like the reviewer says this game needs to be played at 60 fps to get the full experience, don't cut yourselve short and play it on anything less. I hope they port this to the oculus rift.

EA and DICE just announced the new Battlefield 5 errrr... Battlefield 1. It will be interesting to see if people will play this game after getting so used to modern firearms and equipment as it is set in WW 1.

I think they will appreciate it more. Having finished Wolfestein 2015 that took place in 1946 I liked having the old type of guns. I am now playing the sequel (the 2014 wolfenstein that takes place in 1960 alternate universe of the history ) and am not digging the robots and lazers as much. However I really like the story line of the 2014 vs. 2015. The 2015 hits a lot of areas in terms of graphics, sound and immersion. I think provided the battlefield guys put a lot of effort and pay attention to details, game play, immersion and psychology, people might appreciate it more vs. the previous releases.

Here is probably the best game play posted of Doom 2016. The guys is playing on the hardest settings and without HUD. Even gives me the creeps watching this guy play and makes my make gameplay seem like it needs lots of work. This guys mind is dangerous level fast. I though I was getting really good, this guy puts majority of players to shame. However I am happy with my progress thus far and managed to finish both Wolfensteins on hardest plus Doom. Finally starting to snap, twich, react and use reflexes to kill the deamons thanks to the 1080 video card. I was right this is starting to reawaken the part of the brian that lay dormant. I notice my reflexes are improving, my drivng, perception, thinking, talking everything. I love it so much and staying up many nights till 4-5am playing the games.

I think Doom takes FPS gameplay to a whole new level...I mean the game is fast really really fast especially if you have unnoticeable lag on the computer and on hardest setting and especially on the later levels. Also graphics and immersion are there, you totally get sucked in.

Far Cry Blood dragon is quite good, 6-8 hours of fun, you can pickup the game on steam/bundle deals for around $5. It uses the far cry 3 game engine so the graphics are still very good even today.

Titan Fall is a horrible game at full retail price, now you can probably find it for $5, it has both FPS and mech action. For $5 it is worth the money, I would not pay more than $5 for it. Graphics still holds up today.

I've heard good things about Overwatch, which was made by Blizzard the same studio that made StarCraft. Search it on YouTube to find gameplay videos.

There are also some great first and third person role playing games out there. Games like Fallout 3 and 4, Skyrim and Grand Theft Auto 4 and 5 come to mind. They're a lot more story driven so you wont be running around like a madman shooting at whatever moves. But you can dump hundreds of hours into these games doing a variety a things.

I honestly think this game will be a huge hit and the old style guns might bring a lot of war enthusiasts into gaming, let alone the gamers. I honestly can't wait for this one to come out...its is realy realy well done...wow...
Here is some plane game play...
