A little bitter aren't we?Never understood the point of these videos. They just seem like bragging slideshows of extreme sports and adventure travel wrapped up in a GoPro advertisement.
Anyone with a lot of time and money can spend their entire lives on leisure and hedonism, living a lifestyle depicted in these videos. It doesn't mean that people who DON'T do these activities have lives that suck. I say this as a minor adrenaline junkie!
If the topic of the video is to do something amazing with your life, I'd rather see footage of the same people building villages in impoverished nations, volunteering for charitable causes, participating in conservation projects, raising awareness for good causes, helping animals and the poor, building businesses, etc.
I'll agree with you on your last sentence 100%, but you have to admit, it's pretty cool.Never understood the point of these videos. They just seem like bragging slideshows of extreme sports and adventure travel wrapped up in a GoPro advertisement.

Mt. Kilimanjaro sounds fucking awesome, nice.:thumb:I was on a Africa kick a number of years ago.
several adventures.
Class V white water rafting on the Zambezi. You scream and die, I consider myself fairly stoic, the whole way and then like the very most ultimate rollercoaster you want to go again.
Climbed to the top of Kilimanjaro, 6 days that I'll never forget. Between altitude sickness and the physical exertion I thought I might buy it. No one can erase the views from my memories.
It doesn't require uber mountaineering skills and much of it is like climbing a steep path. However it isn't as easy as the brochures would have you believe. Several people had to turn back after 12000'.
Best ever train ride, Rovos Rail Capetown - Dar es Salamm. Luxury to rival any cruise ship and views that are more than the occasional port and lots and lots of water. From South Africa and Botswana, Victoria Falls Zimbabwe, and across Zambia to Tanzania. Two weeks that takes you months to get over. Reality is unacceptable.
The Great Rift Valley is beyond superlatives.
I want to take the Trans Siberian.
I did the West Coast from Vancouver to Santa Barbara in my GT. Several of us then went to Willow Springs International where we did some high speed driving.
I did the tail of the Dragon in Tennessee with a Dodge Challenger. Great ride for the twists and turns, over 300 curves and turns in 11 miles. Wrong car though. Too big and heavy. I would love to do it in something like the new Focus RS that is coming soon. People driving an automatic miss out on half the fun. Way too many motorcycles.
Lots of spots with memorials for those killed and injured.
Your first and only impulse was to brag. Like most of your other posts.A little bitter aren't we?
Who's to say they or I haven't done some of those ultraistic things on your wish list also?:cheer2:
I believe the intent of this thread was what have you done beyond the expected.Your first and only impulse was to brag. Like most of your other posts.
I'm with Urban Cowboy on this one.
My proudest and greatest accomplishment: having and raising two beautiful, well adjusted and giving daughters.
Yep. But more likely bullshitting.I believe the intent of this thread was what have you done beyond the expected.

Can you Arctic ulate that for me?Could it be that the two of you are polar opposites?
I don't understand the point of most music videos, nowadays it's always a group of young ppl, driving expensive cars, then getting together to drink and dance... Justin Bieber.. for example.Never understood the point of these videos. They just seem like bragging slideshows of extreme sports and adventure travel wrapped up in a GoPro advertisement.
