Ugh. After the last movie I can't put faith in the franchise. It was devastatingly bad.

Amen, but it wasn't because of Harrison Ford.
I liked the characters played by Harrison Ford his first two movie franchises but after Star Wars ... I'm a little leery to see what is planned in another Indiana Jones movie.

He's done some really great work outside Star Wars and Indy: 2 Jack Ryan movies, Air Force One, Working Girl, Blade Runner, Witness, The Fugitive, K-19 the Widowmaker, to name a few.

They should just leave the franchise alone. They destroyed it with the last one and what's his name.

I won't lie, I'll be interested in the storyline, but I won't see it in theatres.

They destroyed the franchise with the 2008 instalment.

Ford is far too old to be a convincing human adventure hero now. Watching him on the big screen as a child was magical. Now it's sad.

There is something to be said for youth. Even men have expiration dates.

And please no more Arnie Terminators either.

Why is everyone so hostile?

Don't you think Spielberg, Marshall, Kennedy and Ford know all this? These are very smart, astute film makers. They're very well aware 'Crystal Skull' was a stinker and of Ford's age.

A writer has come up with a great idea. It's been presented to Spielberg and he believes he can make a good film out of it. It suits the 'éminence grise' status of Ford. Has Connery as his Father been forgotten?

I wouldn't write it off just yet. I'm not a particular fan of the franchise (or populist Spielberg for that matter) but Amblin Productions, Dreamworks SKG and Paramount Pictures are not going to invest hundreds of millions and make the same mistake of 'Crystal Skull' and 'Temple of Doom'.

Spielberg is in the autumn of his career so he doesn't want anything that won't enhance his prestige.

Connnery retired from acting many years ago and I think they said in Crystal Skull that his character of Henry Jones Sr. died. IMO George Lucas was the problem in the last Indy movie just like the dreadful Star Wars prequels. He was trying to put too much story into an action / adventure movie. Now that Lucas is not associated with Indy or Star Wars, any future movie should be a lot better, maybe.
