Police say Darren Padilla is wanted in connection with a child pornography investigation. (Toronto Police Service)

A 47-year-old man wanted on child pornography charges in the city has been identified as a TTC employee.

Darren Padilla of Toronto is wanted for accessing and possessing child pornography. Police consider him to be armed and dangerous.

Yesterday, investigators from Toronto police's Child Exploitation unit searched Padilla's home. They say they found child sexual abuse images and videos on a computer.

The TTC won't say where Padilla worked but say told CBC News that they are assisting police.

Padilla is described as five foot 11 inches tall, 190 pounds, bald, with hazel eyes.

He has also gone by the name Darren Laite in the past.

Anyone with information on Padilla's whereabout is asked to contact police at 416-808-8500 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477.

BTW: At least 12 TTC employees have been fired and more are under investigation for medical insurance fraud.

I suspect its because he has nothing to lose.His life is basically fucked now and he's probably not going to go quietly if he has a gun.

I'm 99 per cent certain that a provider I've seen is now working for the TTC. I will not name her to protect her privacy but she had a couple unmistakeable features. I'd bet my mortgage it was her.

The TTC should have been aware of the conviction for two counts of mischief. Now mischief can mean a lot things so they may have not bothered to ask him to explain. That or he made up a story.

I heard on the news that a background check is tied to your fingerprints, not your name.

Mischief charge 20 years later could have been easily removed from his record. Fingerprints on a background check are only needed when name, dob are similar to someone with a criminal record.
