I haven't read anything about this case since they announced the decision, but I highly doubt the quality or length of the video had much to do with it, as opposed to the fact that her privacy was breached in an environment where one should be able to have full privacy.
I've seen the video, just google it and go under videos.
She was doing her hair and sort of checking herself out in the mirror at all angles. The video is very poor, but she has a smoking hot body and sports a trimmed beaver. She certainly has nothing to be ashamed of.
As to 55 million, I think that's insanely high. Apparently since the video hit the webs, her career has gone into high gear, so there's no damages, she's only claiming mental trauma.
I would expect an appeal and a much lower figure on appeal. But still, American courts, I expect her to walk away with millions.
I think the award is more of a statement to the papprazzi....

She deserves 10 times that. That sick fuck violated her privacy and released the video for the rest of the world to see. A video that will never go away till the end of time. I certainly would not want to live with that fact.
Maybe a royalty? What about all the other leaked videos out there. Hulk Hogan is asking for $100mm.

I am assuming he took the video himself and it got leaked. If that is the case he does not deserve a dime because he is a moron. If you don't want someone else to see what you have done then for Pete's sake don't take a video or picture of yourself doing it. If you do and it gets out, you deserve what you get.
Its the hotel that will pay this award.
The sick fuck has no money, he just followed her around to a few hotels and tried to sweet talk them into renting him the room next door so he could take video through the keyhole.
The hotel deserves to pay for letting that kind of crap happen, though that is a very steep price.
I agree with Frankfooter. Regardless if a person is famous or not, a hotel should never give out personal information about their guests.

You can buy a lot of lawyer time with that kind of money. Hotel probably has lawyers on a retainer . It will cost her a bundle to keep on going back to court .
She's probably paid a bundle in fees for her lawyers now . This is how Trump screws people around with paying them less for jobs that they have done for him even though they have a contract . Take me to court he says . Many don't because of the cost of the legal fees .
Just like if someone were to sue you and the judge orders a payment from you . Once your outside of the court house you tell the person to go screw themselves . Back to court you go , over and over again . Eventually the person suing says fuck it .
