Wow that is crazy! I try to stay away from good ole McDics but have indulged in the Greek-Ing Out salad. Can't believe it has 420 calories, 26 grams of fat, and 1,080 milligrams of sodium!! Yikes

It's all about the dressings on those salads. They make them that way so they taste really good.

It's like when the ladies used to order a chicken ceased in restaurants. I'd have to tell them the truth about the calories and switch them to a vinegrette.

But yes, I restrict myself to about one take out a week. The rest I cook and have been steadily moving away from anything prepackaged. Meats are fresh, veg is fresh or flash frozen (a few things). Lots of fresh fruit cut as well. Working on starches now and away from the Knorr type products.

I intend to use the slow cooker more in the coming days and making bulk batches of things.

All you have to do is use low fat or vinagrette dressing, and cut out all that greasy battered chicken, and any of those croutons/crunchy things and a 1,000 calories salad will probably drop to 200.

Cut out any kind of dressing and a salad will probably be no more than 100.

The beef in the big Mac is somewhat lean while the creamy dressing has way more fatty calories.

What's the point of a 100 calorie meal? Doesn't your body need energy to function?

Bingo. I've lost about 120 lbs over three years, and kept it off, and have eaten McDonald's and Wendy's salads (the latter on a very regular basis for a while)!!!! If you think about it logically, how can lettuce/vegetables be bad? Just make sure the protein source that comes with them is low-fat and not breaded, and that you use the dressing very sparingly. You'll be fine, and it's better than anything else on their menu. Don't let idiotic reporters tell you otherwise.

Exactly. At Wendy's I'll usually skip the burger and fries and instead get a light salad and a small chili. If I get a baked potato, I'll top it with the chili instead of sour cream.
