I came across this interview by accident and I must say the guy in the video is extremely well spoken and he speaks very well.

It's from "The Rebel", which I believe is a Canadian Conservative version of Fox News.

So I was wondering if this guy is plant frankly.

There are many well educated people in this world. He may be university educated and at the top of his class. Possibly in more than one field. He may have honed his skills in public speaking and presentation skills in his university days. The oil industry attracts all kinds of people with high paying jobs, some educated and some not. Being that he is in the oil industry, he has heard all the pro industry arguments. If he is a plant in the crowd, then it was a small chance that they would pick him out of hundreds ( maybe thousands ) of people.

Some people can see the big picture, some people can not. Most people just follow the crowd and yell NO PIPELINES - NO VACCINATIONS! What most anti oil sand / pipelines people do not see is that there is danger in not developing these projects. The 16 biggest ships in the world ( many of them oil tankers ) pollute more than all the cars in the world combined. Imagine if one of these ships that deliver foreign oil to Canada breaks up in the St. Lawrence River. The disaster would be monumental. The big picture of Canadian oil sand / pipelines development is oil self sufficiency and the ability to create and sustain Canadian jobs. Money will be kept at home in Canada and not sent out of the country to fuel conflict.

Agree with Ceiling Cat.

P.S. I have a friend who has a major in political science and U.S. history who is a project manager for a large mechanical firm doing work in Alberta. He started out as a steam fitter.

That is an AMAZING statistic - i.e. 16 of the world's super ships create more pollution than all of the earth's cars combined.

Fucking amazing.

Well it turns out that the Middle East as well as other countries have cheaper oil than we do. What's the solution?

The clue is at the very end;

Announcer: "Thanks Bernard"

Bernard: "My pleasure... always a pleasure."

Always? Hmmmmm. Previous "interviews"?

I had a friend in university who always railed against cities as being a blight on the Earth. I told her they were necessary to handle population growth and asked her if she had a reasonable alternative. Nothing.

Same goes for the oil industry. We rely on it. Should we regulate it? Yes. But should we stop it? No. That said, we should always be looking for another, more environmentally-friendly and sustainable energy source.

Well, Justin's way ahead of you. The new source energy is called resourcefulness, apparently.

Doesn't matter if he is a plant ?
His points are valid and all these do gooders need to understand that without, jobs & taxes, there is no money to pay for social programs.
But, they refuse to listen.
The Budget will balance itself.
Our country is full of freeloaders & takers.

We paid for social programs before the oil patch existed.
