With 72 locations worldwide, Morton's may not be the most unique steakhouse experience. However, there is a reason it has been dubbed the Rolls Royce of Steakhouses. The decor in Mortons is sleek and masculine. Located in Toronto's chic Yorkville neighbourhood, the white linen tablecloths inspire a classic fine dining experience. The staff will go through the details of each cut of meat if you are a steak neophyte. Even though the steak may be the highlight, appetizers such as lobster bisque and prosciutto wrapped mozzarella come highly recommended. The USDA prime aged beef is outstanding, and deliciously juicy. That white tablecloth may not stay immaculate for long, but it will be worth every bite. (416-925-0648)

If you're willing to go outside the downtown core, there's a place in Etobicoke that's excellent. It's called Black Angus Steakhouse that's been around for decades in the Bloor and Islington area mid-way between Islington and Royal York subway stations. It's very tiny on the outside and if you blink you'll miss it if you're driving past. http://www.blackangussteakhouse.ca/ There is a parking lot right across the street though.

Morton's is actually one of my favourite places to go with clients.

It's kind of discreet, if you know where to sit and extremely underrated in my opinion. They really know their stuff, wine and food and really do go through all the details, sometimes with cute stories.

Jacob's is another obvious favourite. Harbour Sixty, if you don't mind exposure and always Barberian's.

Barberians. Great steak. Not insanely expensive.
Agreed.

I'm sure there are other places like Barberians.

As for Morton's, Jacob's or Harbour Sixty, they are very good but overpriced I think. However, as Chloe aptly responded, they are downtown too.

Is House of Chan at Bathurst and Eglinton still a great steak house? I haven't been there in years.

I am very suprised nobody mentioned Hy's steakhouse. Great food and very nice decorated inside.
I've been there before. Which one? I recall one at Yorkville and then another on Richmond Street. But don't really know as of late.

Sotto Sotto isn't a steakhouse, speciality is Italian dishes but man, their filet mignon is the bomb dot com.

Same with the French Sassafraz, if Yorkville is your thing. I cannot recommend the area enough for discretion.

Also, Nao's Steakhouse is pretty decent in a pan-Asian type of way.

Shout out to the Keg too.

I think there is only on Richmond I believe. In Yorkville you are probably thinking of Mortons
I think I'm older than you (lol).

A long time ago, before Morton's, I think there was a Hy's on Yorkville too. Thanks though for the update.
