As an aside, the order Crocodilia (which includes modern-day crocodiles, alligators, and gharials) belong to the clade Pseudosuchia, which arose around 250 million years ago in the Early Triassic era and diversified in the Mesozoic era -- in plain English, the crocodilians were alive during the time of the dinosaurs. So whenever I look at or think of crocodiles, I imagine them sharing the earth with the dinosaurs.
