Does anyone else think that Lowry is going to get hurt now that he's trimmed down if he keeps playing with the same style? He still barrels through the key, but surely he can't absorb contact like he used to.

I certainly respect the opinion of thewalker (plus he has one of the best sig pics on this board), but I disagree with him. I don't think they take a step backwards at all. Yes they lose some clutch shooting Lou Williams provided, and I don't think KLow will be as good this season, but JV is one year more mature, the defense has improved tremendously with Bismark, DeMarre and Cory and Scola provides some veteran presence. I'd really like to see JJ take a step forward and if Anthony Bennett can somewhat show why he was selected 1st overall that would be huge.

You look at the league and the PG's are the hardest to stay healthy .. They have the ball most and are the most active ... His problem was he ran out of gas and getting in shape may avoid what happened last year ..

Going through Blue Jay playoff run is quite different then a Raptor ( NBA playoff run ) as a fan ... Wow you only have half a day to debate discuss what happened wrong or right and you have another game ... NBA it is at times a two to three day break till you get the next game ..

Thanks, KD. I hope I'm wrong but I feel pretty confident in my outlook, feels like a 43-44 win team. But hey, I didn't think the Wizards would sweep them last year either, so who knows.

As I posted, I still think they'll win the division with Boston being the only challenger, so I don't think they're terrible or anything. How many wins do you think they project to this year if everyone's healthy?

Celtics scare me ... They are young deep and play hard ....

That Wizard loss still has zapped the confidence I have in this team ....

RGuy, the great news is that team against the Wiz is not the team this year. Joseph, Wright and/or Powell are an upgrade to Vasquez and Williams. We lose some points off the bench with Williams but better D will offset that. DC will be a different look and though we lose some heart in AJ, everyone is a year more experienced. I think that this team is upgraded but scoring may be an issue.

Thompson signs with Cavs 5 yrs 82 million. Shouldn't that put them into the luxury tax area?

I don't know much about the guy, but should we take a run at Jimmer Fredette?...just released by the Spurs; minimum of course?? If our team is stacked with one on one and help defenders, can't we use a pure shooter for offence and be able to cover for him on defence?

Was awesome in college, not so much as a pro. Not sure how he would fit with the Raps. Looks like he will head overseas and that may be the bet place for him to get his game together.

Your right ... He looks like a guy perfectly suited for Euro basket / FIBA ... He reminds me of Canadian Brady Heslip who gave up on the DLeague ( he was leading the league in scoring ) to go to Europe and scored MVP honors and a huge contract along with that ...

We tried that with sweetLou last year......if you're not a starter in this league you need to have some defensive cred nowadays to play ....Jimmer is a pure shooter, that's for sure like heslip....

Just looked at the Raps roster and no surprises. Don't think they will drop in the standings. Look pretty solid especially playing in the Atlantic. Ross has to prove he belongs, JJ can play when he wants, have to find a way to make him want to play every night, maybe the expiring contract will be a motivator. JV just got that extension and he is a young guy that we keep seeing signs he is developing but never seems to complete the development. Need him to be on the floor when the game is on the line, so far he has not earned that spot. Defense has definitely improved, hope the offence is good enough to compete against the elite. Bench appears solid, hope Bennett is ready to show why he was a #1. Not sure what to make of the Brazilians, still haven't seen a reason as to why they are in the league.

Looking forward to the season.

Screw TSN and Sportsnet. Ballstreams is where its at. My friend has it and I plan to get it.
I'm getting tired of both of these networks. They keep throwing Raps games on secondary channels, SN1/TSN2, and then say that the raps don't get enough viewers. How can people watch if you put games on channels that people don't want/have and then blame us for not watching. I remember last year they put the Hawks v. Raps on TSN2 and this was when the raps were in second in the east while the Hawks were #1. *It was either that or vice versa* Instead they put friggin curling on the main channel. Was curling seriously going to get better ratings then a top of the east showdown in the NBA? Whoever is the programming director for both of these stations should be fired.
