The only thing that keeps me from predicting a Liberal victory is I'm not sure how their support is spread. It's not enough to have greater support on a percentage basis, that support must be distributed in a way that translates to more seats.

Good point, but I'd suggest that the trend of the polls puts the Liberals far enough ahead to secure a minority government. Even if the unexpected should happen and the Conservatives gain a small plurality of seats, they won't be in power for long.

That those who believe that a victory by Trudeau and the Grits will be a panacea for all Canadian ills and particularly for C-36 will be disappointed.

True. But it will ensure that Harper doesn't continue to enact repressive and regressive legislation like C-36 over the next 5 years.

no i dont believe it will be all milk and honey with Trudeau....the economy will be sluggish for quite awhile regardless of who is the PM................but for me i just want harper gone..i dont like the way he approaches governing, to say the least...he is a spiteful, meanspirited compassionless human being , who has surrounded himself with truly awful people . like Kenney Polievre, Calandra Oliver, Clement..i could go on and on......in my opinion it will be a giant breath of fresh air from BC to NFLD rushing in after Harper packs up and leaves..

Yes the old the new guy will be just as bad as the old guy so why change. This is a type of voter suppression. The technique is based on having the voter feel impotent, that their vote doesn't matter and therefore why vote. Its put forth mainly by cpc supporters and is taught in their training sessions

If Trudeau wins, he will likely be getting/seeking input from elder statesmen Chretien and Martin (even though Chretien and Martin dislike each other).

Anybody think the Liberals won't win?
Depends what winning looks like. I predict Harper's Cons won't get the popular vote they did last time. Their resource management and targeting may still be effective enough to hang onto a plurality. But everyone else learned those skills from the Cons, and the Liberals strong poll numbers may be in places where their team can get the vote out as thoroughly as the CPoC team. I'd say proven experience vs. raw numbers makes that one a toss-up, and it could as likely be Justin who has the plurality.

Which to me makes Mulcair moving out of Stornoway a fairly sure thing, we just don't know who's moving in. Tom ran a principled and careful campaign, but it was Justin who came to own the Anyone But Harper ticket, and unlike the NDP, the Liberals had little to lose by pointing out Harper's cynical 'tool of mass distraction'.

Oh yeah; there's always the possibility of a majority by Tuesday morning. When I see the piggies hovering I'll believe it's more than a red-hair thin.

What a joke. ************ Poilievre is awesome he calls a spade a shovel. I think he can be a great next leader for the party. Kenney is a bit of dweeb but he is a very competent politician. I've met Clement he's a good guy and again very competent. As is Joe Oliver - I think he's done well in his finance role. There are very few in the Liberal party that have the skills and acumen of these individuals. And nobody in the NDP comes close - they are a band of misfits.

Unfortunately I have to trust the recent polls that are putting Liberals at close to a majority. I'm hoping it's a minority however. Giving Trudeau and the Lieberals absolute power will be disastrous for Canada. Just like it has been for Ontario under Wynne/McGuinty. Truly sad that this is where we are headed.

The lie that he is a kid has fallen flat and is now costing the cons votes every time they say it, it now makes the cons look like they can't compete on ideas so they have gone to cheap and false insults.

Or to put it another way, does it help your guy that a kid who needs after school tutoring wiped the floor with him in the ideas debate?
