A very close friend of mind is dieing and he wanted me to pick a song to be played at his funeral, and it got me to thinking about what song Id want to be remembered for. For him I chose Midnight Rider by the Almond Brothers, because well lets just say his live was not what what you would call ordinary. So if you were on your death bed and you had to choose what would it be

Redemption Song by Bob Marley

The song urges listeners to "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery," because "None but ourselves can free our minds".

And at the end of the day when it's all said and done, I can honestly say, I did things my way

Non stop Frank Sinatra. All of it. Every last damn song.

And maybe some Weird Al Yankovic just cause.

I don't care as long as it's a party song and the liquor is flowing. My one request is that instead of spending money on an expensive coffin and a headstone, I want my funeral to be the biggest party I've ever thrown.

Also sorry to hear about your friend.

I'm a bit of a traditionalist for things like this so I'd lean towards Amazing Grace and Auld Lang Syne.
And, a little more contemporary, The Beatles' Let It Be.

"My Way" - Sinatra
My Way ? Give me a break. My song at my funeral will be my thoughts and one song that comes to mind is, "Whats Going On".
I played it, on another thread.
