Club Review: Nikki's Roadhouse
Hwy 2, Woodstock, Ontario
Nikki's has been a club that I've been curious about for a long time but have never been to. I'm a TTC bound Torontonian, who, when he does have a vehicle, seldom finds himself in the vicinity of this club. Well, I had a vehicle and I was a little bit West so I figured I'd remedy this situation on a recent weekday night. I haven't been out to the clubs much in the last while, but I've been on a little spree as of late. I've been focusing on places that are new to me, or that I haven't been to in a good while. Nikki's certainly fit the bill in that regard.
How to get to Nikki's Roadhouse for a GTAer: By far the easiest way to get there for a GTAer is to head West on the 401. If my memory serves me it's a little over 140km from where I exited the 401, to 'Toronto' according to the sign. Basically, head West on the 401 until you go, "Crap, I'm pretty much in Woodstock, did I go too far?", then you'll see the exit for Highway 2. Take that exit then head toward Paris. It'll be about a 5 minute drive, on the right (South), with good signage, so don't be like me and lurch to a slowdown every time you see a likely building. You can actually save a few KM if you take the exit prior to Highway 2, but this route is simpler. Torontojohn deserves a shout out for getting the pin in the right place on the map.
I've seen Nikki's described as a 'converted barn', but it was very dark when I got there. To me I saw a big sign, with a big sturdy looking building, with parking on three sides, and a modest wrap around awning to hide under. Outside of the front door is a big drum ashtray, and the impression of sturdiness was enhanced by the two sets of heavy double doors on the way in. By the time I got to the second set of doors I was thinking, "If all else fails at least I know where I can hole up with guns and canned beans during the zombie apocalypse." (I don't have any guns, FYI.) After I opened the doors I was confronted with... A small town bar. Maybe a bit of a rocker tinge. Maybe a little shabby. But basically your typical small town bar. There was NO door fee.
Once you get in the doors and turn right you walk past the stage, across the main floor of the bar, and at the far end are the washrooms and the bar. It's a fairly typical bar as far as that goes. There is one row of elevated seating and tables between the main bar and the rest of the tables on the main floor. The men's room wasn't great, heck, I wouldn't even call it good, but it was cleanish (maybe because the bar was quiet), had soap, paper towles, and TP, and was far less of a horror show than some of the SC washrooms in the GTA. Needless to say there was NO washroom attendant.
When I got there the bar was quiet. Hey, it was a weekday night. I'd say fewer than a dozen patrons (with people coming and going), and 8 - 10 dancers. First, I have to say that the dancers I saw looked pretty darn good, and only one was a little older than I'd have liked (but she was nice to talk to). Most of what I've read has said that the dancer quality can vary pretty wildly here. I have no benchmark for that, but I was liking what I was seeing. Second, HALF the dancers on shift were black girls, and yummy. The white girls were mostly "girl next door" types, good looking, and stripperish. Not the heyday of the Brass Rail good looking, but good looking none the less. The black girls dressed the place up a little more, and looked pretty damn good to me. No dancer was BBW, I'd say the dancers ranged from fit to 'slim but softer', with one black girl having just a little more weight but still looking good.
I settle in for a decent stay. I plan to have a few quick beer ($5.something), then to water (sub-$5) my way back to fully road legal over the ensuing hours. The bouncer did seem pretty concerned with potential drivers over drinking, and that's a good thing. Most of the dancers come by. We chat. All of them had good attitude. I had actually just resolved to go to the VIP with the slightly older white dancer who wasn't really my cup of tea, but who was nice and interesting to talk to, for a 2 or 3 song test drive when I literally bumped into one of the white GND types, with light brown to dirty blonde hair, who was reasonably slim and had a decent set of tits. I said to myself, "Yip, that's my test drive!" and headed for a 3 song stint in the VIP with her instead. Her service was good, and she was eager to please, but I knew that this was just the warm up.
On the VIP-- There was NO cover for me. I entered an area to the right of the bar when facing the bar. The area is well partitioned, if a little bright where I was, and peeking eyes couldn't see in from the main floor. I went to the VIP twice, and both girls took me to the same secluded booth to the far left of the VIP. The one disappointment was the VIP booth. In it was a low, well worn, green fabric loveseat that leaned a little far back, and a lonely chair that was used as a table. Now, I like the loveseat as it was soft and roomy, but: 1) Ewwww... fabric, and 2) too far back. My suggestions would be: Dim the lighting in the VIP just a smidge. Don't make it dark, but it was pretty bright where I was, so just a (very little) bit dimmer. Also, I like the loveseats, but maybe something in (p)leather that's wipeable, with (just a little) more of an upright back. Maybe some tiny end tables. Despite my two trips to the VIP, I only saw the one booth, so maybe another one would be more to my liking. I was pretty focused on the dancers in question at the time and not doing a survey.
Next up to the VIP was the one black girl I had my eye on in particular. Slim but soft. Pretty. Nice big tits with responsive nipples. We hit it off pretty good, the banter was good and not too forced, and she was a fun girl who provided liberal service. No overt mention of extras was made, but I made it clear that I was principally interested in dances. This made her a little tentative with me, but she gave great dances, and I (and I'd like to think 'we') had a lot of fun after she figured out that my limits were, "$20 per song but I'm happy to let things go where they go." A 'good sit' later and I left feeling pretty good about the universe in general. Shortly after that I left.
I had no drama on either trip to the VIP, but I 'never' have drama. No overt menu was dropped by either girl I went to the VIP with, but I made it clear I was in it for $20/per dances (which were good). I would consider this place high mileage. I have every confidence that anything you can find in a GTA club could be found here, but probably at rural highway rates. All and all I had a good time, and would repeat. Now if I could only get there again in a sensible way...
TL;DR-- After a long drive I discovered a well signed small town bar, that had 8-10 good looking women, though one was a fair bit older than is my preference. Half were yummy black girls, the rest were GND-white-girl-dancer types. Attitudes were good and the ladies liberal. Cheap beer and no fees. A good time was had. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The VIP could use some work.
