Former Toronto police chief Bill Blair has officially won the federal Liberal nomination in Scarborough Southwest.
Party members in the east-end riding cast their ballots at R.H. King Academy on St. Clair Avenue, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Blair was announced as the winner around 5:30 p.m.
Blair, who officially retired as Toronto police chief in April following 10 years on the job, was one of three candidate’s vying for the right to carry the Liberal banner in the next federal election. He beat out Muhammad Bukhari and Marlène Thélusma Rémy to win the nomination.
