A boys soccer team from ISNA Private Islamic High School refused to finish a game on Tuesday because two females were on the opposing team during a Brampton tournament.

Robert F. Hall Catholic School, in Caledon, does not have a girls team so the two females played on the senior boys team, which was approved by the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA)

The girls on Robert F. Hall Catholic School team told CityNews they insisted on sitting out for the second half to allow the game to continue

The girls SAT OUT!

Unfortunately Lefties will run and try to argue that the oppressive and backward ideology should be accommodated at the expense of the two girls. Scum

I agree- they shoudnt have been allowed to sit out
If they sat out on their own, it is a free (somewhat) country, YOU CAN choose, not every flipping thing has to be a battle.

On the flip side, those muslim boys mighta got their ass whooped if the girls played.

That's what should have been done. It's only fair. Your choice to follow your religion should come at your expense, not at someone else's.

They sat out because they felt pressured to do so. Once the muslim boys indicated they were too afraid to continue- they should have lost by default immediately. The ref should have blown the whistle and game over. The girlss sshould never have been put in a position to feel they should withdraw.

They voluntarily sat out in the same way women volunteer to wear the burkha

The problem with the Muslim religion is that there is no room for compromise. This isn't about getting along, this is about creating unfair exceptions for a group that is imposing their principles on others. If you owned a restaurant that serves breakfast including all of the delicious pork products most of us eat with it, would you agree to remove them from your menu just so Muslims could eat in your establishment or ask (politely) that they eat elsewhere?

In the western world, inequality against women is slowly but thankfully being rubbed out. If that religion does not accept the concept, I certainly don't want it imposed on them except in secular, non-Muslim settings like a public school board event. Tell me, what would have happened if the tournament organizers had assigned a female referee? Would you agree to their misogynistic demands then as well?

I'm not sure if you truly mean "getting along" or "appeasement".

Is it customary for boys and girls to play on the same teams nowadays? It's been awhile since I was in public school. Are all sports coed now?

I think there are some Human Rights Commission and/or court cases that says sports teams must allow both males and females on the same team, except when they play a Muslim team in which case the females must "voluntarily" sit out or the non-Muslim team team will lose by default.

Kick them out of the league.

I'm tired of religions thinking that the public at large should bend to their wishes.

We are a secular society based on equality for all and as such, you are free to retreat into the cocoon of your mosque or church, or temple, or whatever. I don't care. But once you're outside those doors, the principles of equality before the law apply whether you like it or not.

Much like their religion allows for no compromise, neither should our laws against discrimination. If you can't find a way to respect both, in public society your religion's concepts should not take precedence over public law and public interest.

In your private home or church, discriminate all you want. For example, many churches don't allow female ministers. Or gay members. I don't feel they should be forced to. But once they cross into public activities or services, it should be you that opts out, not the discriminated party.

It is BS that the vast majority of Muslims are not radical

This is evidence that they are and they are everywhere
I don't think that the vast majority of Muslims are radical. They aren't about to fly a plane into the CN tower any time soon.

But I do think that the vast majority of Muslims are brainwashed and they buy into the Muslim dogma completely.

I don't think you understand the common definition of radicalism. Catholics don't allow women to be priests and conservative Jews have similar rules against free mixing. Are they radical as well?

I don't agree with their belief and I don't think anyone else should be inconvenienced to accommodate them. But saying ignorant shit like that doesn't help anyone.

They need to follow Canadian rules..the girls shouldn't have to sit out.

I learned of this story when it was shared online by a Calgary Conservative MP standing up for the rights of the girls in the face of oppression. I love how conflicted the right wingers are on these issues.

On one hand they love to shout "this is Canada if you don't like it leave!" On the other they are partnering with the same people on the fight against the Liberal sex Ed agenda to "gayify" our children.

The tories have been pandering to the social conservatism of Muslim immigrants to get votes for years. And yet when they express it they are suddenly all budding terrorists.
