How do you talk to a sex worker in public?

LIKE A PERSON....BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE...
if you treat them like a non person, you become an asshole.....
if you meet an accountant, do you immediately ask them to balance your check book, or do your taxes? No....
why any different?

Maybe I'm weird, but I usually just assume that a friend is a friend and our conversations are based on mutual interests. I don't bring up the industry unless they do.

What scares me is that articles like these are necessary. Don't all guys treat women with respect no matter what their profession? Yeah I know... I'll crawl back into the hole where I've been hiding!
Especially some guys who used to go to TFC games.

As I see it, If you can't treat others with respect, you have none for yourself and are an idiot or a bully if you expect respect back in return.

I've only run across a lady I was familiar with once on the outside, and I left her undisturbed in the company of our friends, even though we had recognized each other.

There were thanks, the next time I visited and regrets on both our parts that we couldn't have sat down for a coffee then and talked about the life, the universe and everything (HHGTTG fans both)

Disrespect is for liars, cheats etc,,

This is what I usually say:

Oh, baby now let's get down tonight
Ooh baby, I'm hot just like an oven
I need some lovin'
And baby, I can't hold it much longer
It's getting stronger and stronger

And when I get that feeling
I want sexual healing
Sexual healing, oh baby
Makes me feel so fine.... :D

I'm the same way. Why would my conversations be any different than any other friend. What threw me for a bit of a loop was this part of the article in the opening sentences:

" I'm "out" as a sex worker to a friend and was meeting his pals for the first time. When he told one of them what I do for a living, I was apprehensive."

What kind of asshole 'friend' would tell his friends (particularly while she is sitting there) that she is a sex worker ? Nice friend ! I've dated / been friends with a few dancers and we have gone on many social gatherings with my friends & family. I never ever tell even my closest buddies about her work. If she wants bring it up - it's up to her.

You can't talk to sex workers like they are people

Half the questions will result in lies to protect privacy and the other half of things you say will result in probable lies because she is motivated to get along with her.

The only way you can be sure she is being truthful is if you say something so fucked up that she is disgusted and couldn't be bothered to make the effort to keep you as a potential future client.

Maybe she might share your positions and interests but you can never know. It is her job to pretend to like you and get along with you.

While I am playing captain obvious. There is a pretty good chance that the Timmies or Mcd's girl who is half your age probably doesn't think you are as cool and charming as she lets on.

There are of course exceptions to both those rules.
+1 all the way

Sorry guys and gals, but the article was boring as watching paint dry, just another rant from a sex worker.

We get enough of that here.

Guess that is what we are here for I suppose.

Not sure what I made of this but based on my limited sample size, my conversation with the girls seem genuine.

They told me their hometown, what school they are going to, pets, and etc.

It didn't feel they were making things up to "please me" as I wasn't looking for any validation either.

The conversations didn't feel any different than if I was on a real date with her.

I have been extremely sensitive about the privacy issue so I never asked questions that could be personal. However, all these information were volunteered to me as part of our conversation just like real life.

Perhaps if you talk to the ladies like they are real people, they will respond just like real people?

I totally agree with the above. I don't delve into their personal lives but since I tend to repeat I have found the girls volunteering information and as I get comfortable with them I will reciprocate.

Absolutely, as long as you stay away from 'where do you live', 'can I date you' or any questions that seem like you might be a stalker, I've found some of the ladies to be quite open.

Meh, he's not entirely wrong. The main distinction is whether she's working you or not. Even if she's not, some girls flip easily (subconsciously?) between their mindspaces (civvie/real personality vs. working girl personality). Like with all relationships, use your bullshit filter. Don't listen to what they say; watch what they do.

Yeah, usually the rookies or the jaded veterans with zero fucks to give. Most girls are smart enough to keep a safety zone of privacy.

You must had a really bad experience, so horrible to the point you were traumatized and decide to bash escorts on TERB. I would like to know what happened to you and why did you became so disturbingly offensive? :frusty:

It's less about talking and more about texting. It goes something like this:

You: Are you ok with DFK, Daty, Dato, BBBJ, CIM, Greek, FS, BBFS?
Her: Yes! $120/half
You: Cool! see you in an hour
Her: C U soon babe!
