I have been catching bits and pieces here and there.
Finally get to watch a full game, expecting a laugher this morning and almost saw the biggest upset in human history.
Canada did not put in an honest effort against France this morning and it almost cost them.
Canada up only 3-1 to start the third and France scores twice, the nerve of those French bastards, and we have a tie game.
It took a PP for Canada to score the winner. 4-3 final, Canada now 5-0. They all but have first locked up in their group.

Canada wins;
6-1 Latvia
10-0 Germany
6-3 Czechs
6-4 Sweden
4-3 France

v Swiss Sunday
v Austria Tuesday


Then the playoff round.

Canada has been knocked out in the quarters five years in a row.
2009 was the last time we advanced past the first playoff game. Lost to Russia in Gold game.

Playoff round;
So far only one match up is determined ... Canada will play Belarus(crossover from group B, fourth) on Thursday at 10:15AM according to the info I read.



Sweden has locked up second in group A, while the Czechs and Swiss will determine third and fourth at some point today.

With a closer look, I see the Czechs already have third locked.


It is group B that has the US, Russia and Finland to determine 1-3.
US is playing right now. Had a 3-0 lead over Slovakia, let it slip away.
Slovaks took a 4-3 lead and when last I checked ... now into the third and it is 4-4.

Canada hammered the once glorious Empire of Austria 10-1. Now Canada will face Belarus in the quarters. I am worried about Finland though, they have the best team defense and best goaltending in Rask.

Pelted the poor keeper with 50 shots. The only names I recognize on Belarus are the Kostitsyn brothers.

I am not sure if I would not rather play the Finns.
I really do not like playing the host team in the playoff round, especially in a one and your done style of playoff.

Anyway I think we will win.
Semi-final goes Saturday at 9:15am.

and,amazingly, they did it without Nazim Kadri!

recall, last year, the great nazim is (somehow) on the roster....when the Avs lost in 1st round of the NHL playoffs Nathan McKinnon joined the team and nazim
said "he'll give us depth"

he did that all right, straight onto the top line while nazim got stapled to the bench.,

what a clown, as a rookie he referred to his-then bosses Brian Burke&Ron Wilson as "Burkie and Willsie", something 10 yr vets wouldn't do.
