GTA
unplugged

here he does the pines incorrectly attributed to leadbelly

the song is full of symbolism and the opening 2 words should be sung black girl not my girl

I think the pines symbolizes the losing of virginity

Agrees ! unplugged is amazing ! :)

Rubber Soul - The Beatles.
even go back to their first Beatlemania album

the significance is that they changed album making

before the Beatles an album had one or two hit songs with fillers

the Beatles changed that with albums with nothing but good songs

with rubbersoul they went even deeper by making a concept album (all songs about heartbreak) with all good songs

The Wall by PF, and many other great albums , are the result of the Beatles originality

Like Elvis and Frank, they changed music

William Shatner - The Transformed Man.

It would be interesting to hear the story behind this album. Specifically, what was Shatners reaction when approached to do the album. Was it a "You've got to be kidding" or was it a "That sounds like an interesting project.

Another interesting you tube gem is his take on Rocket Man. To me, Shatner has always had a bizarre sense of humor. I would like to spend a couple of hours with him sharing a bottle.

Can I take the politicians definition of one?

In that case almost anything by Queen, Pink Floyd and almost all of the above..

For the real definition of one:

I would have to go with Dark Side of the Moon, no matter how stressed I am, how bad my day has been, how angry I am... put that on and by the end of side one I am a calm, normal human being (for a given value of normal).... It may have something to do with the underlying heartbeat on the album or just because it is a damn fine piece of work.

For me top albums I have to LOVE almost every song on them.

Esthero - Breath from Another
Sinead O' Conner - Lion and the Cobra
The Sundays - Read Writing and Arithmetic
Portishead - Dummy
Cranberries - Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?

Those come to mind as my all time faves.
