Isn't the main thing is that Lowry isn't healthy .. He is what he is it seems ... A player with allstar ability but a player who can't give you a full season of great ball cause body breaks down ... He broke down carrying this team in the first half of the season but isn't a allstar player a player who can carry a team for 82 games without getting tired and breaking down .The Raps down fall was being outrebounded on the offensive glass. The Wiz did it in the regular season, and now they've fully exploited the Raps weakness in game one.
I thought DeRozan going at Pierce was a good strategy, but once they put Porter on him, he couldn't do anything. Porter's length bothered him. Casey better adjust by having DeRozan come off double or staggered screens to free himself up in the next game, or he's going to have a bad series.
Raps won't win a half court battle with the Wiz. They better start pushing the tempo and apply more pressure because they will need to start forcing turnovers to keep even in the ball possession battle (cuz they won't win the battle of the glass with the Wiz). Lowry also needs to show up. He needs to use his brain in game two. Two bad fouls, gambling on defense, and stupid shots is all I saw from him.
The Raps also need to get James Johnson in the game when Pierce is playing the 4 spot. Pierce is a sieve on defense and Johnson can exploit him in the post. I know Casey is a mediocre coach, but to be outcoached by Wittman is a disgrace.
They are a jump shooting team .. live and die by the jump shotThe problem with Raptors is that they get exposed when they face the same opponent day in and day out.
During the regular season, you can sneak up on someone and beat anyone, but in the playoffs, you can't fool anybody and you get what you deserve.
I don't have much hope for this series after game 1.
Agreed 100%! I would like to see JV playing big inside the circle and taking the lead of action!enough of the gloom and doom guys!.. game 2 is up, and we still have the entire series to be played out... the raps will find a way to win...the team we saw on Saturday was sluggish and slow... i blame the 1pm start time.. tonite will be much better.. Go Raps!!
I think the 12:30 start may have something to do with ugly game played by both ...enough of the gloom and doom guys!.. game 2 is up, and we still have the entire series to be played out... the raps will find a way to win...the team we saw on Saturday was sluggish and slow... i blame the 1pm start time.. tonite will be much better.. Noon starts gets everyone....hopefully Washington still has travel legs tonight...rebounds and keeping Beal and Wall in front of them will be key....use the crowd to get going boys and let's go Raptors! :thumb:I think the 12:30 start may have something to do with ugly game played by both ...
Never taking down my sig pic!Our back court can match up with the Wizards. Our front court doesn't score enough and gives up too many second looks. The Raps need a strong power forward to effectively compete. What they have won't do, Gortat and Nene are killing us.
But as long as thewalker doesn't take down his avatar I'll be happy.
