The Raps down fall was being outrebounded on the offensive glass. The Wiz did it in the regular season, and now they've fully exploited the Raps weakness in game one.

I thought DeRozan going at Pierce was a good strategy, but once they put Porter on him, he couldn't do anything. Porter's length bothered him. Casey better adjust by having DeRozan come off double or staggered screens to free himself up in the next game, or he's going to have a bad series.

Raps won't win a half court battle with the Wiz. They better start pushing the tempo and apply more pressure because they will need to start forcing turnovers to keep even in the ball possession battle (cuz they won't win the battle of the glass with the Wiz). Lowry also needs to show up. He needs to use his brain in game two. Two bad fouls, gambling on defense, and stupid shots is all I saw from him.

The Raps also need to get James Johnson in the game when Pierce is playing the 4 spot. Pierce is a sieve on defense and Johnson can exploit him in the post. I know Casey is a mediocre coach, but to be outcoached by Wittman is a disgrace.

Isn't the main thing is that Lowry isn't healthy .. He is what he is it seems ... A player with allstar ability but a player who can't give you a full season of great ball cause body breaks down ... He broke down carrying this team in the first half of the season but isn't a allstar player a player who can carry a team for 82 games without getting tired and breaking down .

The problem with Raptors is that they get exposed when they face the same opponent day in and day out.

During the regular season, you can sneak up on someone and beat anyone, but in the playoffs, you can't fool anybody and you get what you deserve.

I don't have much hope for this series after game 1.

Agreed 100%! I would like to see JV playing big inside the circle and taking the lead of action!

I think the 12:30 start may have something to do with ugly game played by both ...

Noon starts gets everyone....hopefully Washington still has travel legs tonight...rebounds and keeping Beal and Wall in front of them will be key....use the crowd to get going boys and let's go Raptors! :thumb:

They played terribly...... bad shooting, out rebounded, stars under performed yet they lost in overtime.

If they even play an aversge game and the wizards play the same as game one...... i like those odds.

I disagree that the raptors snuck up on teams. Maybe in the first few weeks of the season but after that i dont think so.

Well, at least we made the playoffs & overachieved for a Toronto based sports team!!!!!!!!

The Raps are done. There's no coming back. You can see it in their eyes. They're resigned to the fact that this series is over!!!

Hopefully, we use our 2 first round draft picks prudently this time around and make offseason upgrades.

Normally I say it is a seven game series and we are only down two.
However, these two games were our home games, now on the road. We may not see them until next season.
This is just stupid ... last night the Raptors won the fourth by 11 points but still lost the game by 11. What the fuck in the second ?
The Raptors have completely lost their confidence from first half of season.

They need(ed) a Charles Oakley or Jerome Williams.

Our back court can match up with the Wizards. Our front court doesn't score enough and gives up too many second looks. The Raps need a strong power forward to effectively compete. What they have won't do, Gortat and Nene are killing us.

But as long as thewalker doesn't take down his avatar I'll be happy.

get back faster on defense

box out and rebound

run more through jv he was effective and drawing fouls

less jacking up quick jumpers with tons of time left

kyle needs to stay out of foul trouble

Never taking down my sig pic!

But seriously, there's something wrong with Lowry, he's just not the same guy. Raps can only go so far as he takes them, he just doesn't have that energy and intensity he had at the beginning of the season, and he's picking up so many cheap fouls.

I just hope they don't get swept.

Playoffs can and will expose weaknesses as teams focus on your issues. Raptors played on the edge all year and all these flaws showed up more often than not. Washington is now magnifying these faults. So much for our better coaching staff! This was the same team from the beginning of the year and Masai said it was still work in progress. If Raps don't pick it up, we get to start wondering what gets blown up over the summer. Still believe they can do it, they just have to be 100% from now on....let's go Raptors!:thumb:
