In Star Trek they travelled into the future then came back which is why I say they got it wrong

Simple:
1) create a wormhole.
2) move one end of said wormhole (Point A) as close to the speed of light as possible, say round trip to Alpha Centauri and back.
3) important, leave the other end of the wormhole (Point B) alone.
4) Point A relative time was slower than Point B due to the high rate of speed of the end of wormhole in motion, as stated by previous commenters.
