Phil can only do so much for a client that has run afoul of the CRA laws. Phil finds people that are in trouble with the CRA, he promises the client that he will do his best to get them off the hook. Phil will negotiate with the CRA and stall them, each time there is paperwork or a meeting with the CRA, Phil ( or one of his confederates ) will rack up a charge to the client. Only when the CRA is satisfied that the client has no money to give up or Phil has skimmed most of it off in billings does the CRA settle for a lesser amount than they were demanding at first. It is a crap shoot for the client, he may end up paying less, more or paying the same amount but some to the CRA and some to Phil.
Phil has portrayed the CRA guys as cruel black hearted bastards, and they were out to find every cent Phil owed on taxes as retribution for the unflattering portrayal. He got rich and arrogant and tried to buy himself some youth with a young wife. He must have paid big to unload wife #1, and now he has to pay $25K a month to wife #2. Gee, if Phil is so smart how come he did not get a pre nup from one of his lawyer buddies.
