While he's often right, I find that he's rarely if ever funny. Matter of taste, I suppose. Some people find shooting fish in a barrel hilarious. I don't.The guy is just flat out right and funny
Fantastic show.I'm on the 3rd season right now.Brilliant writingI love watching Bill Maher. I wonder if Aaron Sorkin was watching that night when he came up with this speech.
I can't stomach watching this fucker, even when I agree with him. It's like a firehose of smug prick.
Your right!! Maybe not that funny, but everything he was expressing is unfortunately the truth. And he didn't even bother mentioning that its probably one of the most racist of countries in the world. The guy is just flat out right and funny
I actually don't find him all that funny either, but I do enjoy watching his show. I don't always agree with him -- actually I strongly disagree with him at times -- but he makes good points, admits when someone else has a point even if it's a contrary opinion, and is a great debater on modern issues. And he somehow has the patience to deal with the pigheaded stubbornness of his guests who refuse to admit fault in their arguments even after Maher has destroyed them.Maher is a total fuckhead. Nothing funny about him. The only thing I agree with him on is his criticism of Islam.
That would mean he's not a TOTAL fuckhead.....or that you're a fuckhead to some degree.Maher is a total fuckhead. Nothing funny about him. The only thing I agree with him on is his criticism of Islam.
You are so right. I wish I lived in the land of the free. I would really enjoy paying for health care, and not being able to gamble offshore.Yet we remain the sole Superpower.
What's the purpose of these threads?
It's a rhetorical question btw: The answer being to try and tear down the superpower.
Can Canada ever end its inferiority complex and juvenile U.S. bashing obsession?
It would be nice.
That clip was posted in 2009, but I think it's from 2007 or so. Something said about 9-11 and 6 years, plus he seems to indicate Bush is still in office. He mentions Bush at the end, and looking at the source, turns out this clip is from 2009.
America's only sunk lower since then.
I think if you look closely, that it's Americans criticizing their own country in those videos.Yet we remain the sole Superpower.

I guess you believe in angels? (and I don't mean Sassy Angels....which is the kind of religious experience I like) :wink:Maher is a total fuckhead. Nothing funny about him. The only thing I agree with him on is his criticism of Islam.
Correct on both counts.Bill Maher is articulate and accurate but he delivers his message in such a condescending manner that no one wants to hear it.
Here's right about one item, Ronald Reagan did not bring about the fall of the Berlin Wall. East Germans were rallying for more freedoms long before he delivered his " Mr Gorbachev tear down this wall" speech. And the mass migrations from Czechoslovakia into Austria greased the wheels of Soviet collapse.
