Toronto life wrote about him back in march, apparently he is suffering from anxiety and some other psychological issues. This is what I think happened, there's no question he has been into "rough sex" which by his definition it is beating, choking, abusing women both physically and mentally. He probably discussed that with his partners beforehand in length and details through text, emails or some other sort of commiunications just to built anticipation, excitement for both parties. Most of his partners just went along thinking it is harmless fetishes and fantasies not knowing the extend this guy would go to make his sick fantasies reality. I'm also sure many of them have been audio/video taped knowingly or unknowingly. At all time due to JG 's egoistic, narcissist personality he looked at the encounters as consensual and the women as willing participants.
He really believes he is innocent so he showed emails, texts, tapes to CBC execs in the meeting which got him fired on the spot.
There probably no woman will press charges against him due to the existence of these text,emails,....
He'll be eventually be charged by police because inflicting harms on others even if it is consentual is a crime, that's why euthanasia is a crime.
As for women who came forward,I'd say majority of them are 15 minutes seekers.

But then again I still strongly believe he is innocent until proven guilty and that is why I live in this beautiful country and not my homeland.

Ps. CBC should send a team of investigators to Sochi!!

I doubt the majority of women who were at the end of his painful assaults are seeking their 15 minutes of fame. Maybe the ones who dated him but weren't harmed at all, just creeped by him.

This is reminiscent of the a new bimbo every day coming forward that Tiger Woods went through. Only way creepier. JG's victims are not bimbos. You have to wonder how many women will eventually come forward.

If this isn't rape which she concedes, then what is it? Sexual assault? I'm trying to understand the crime.

Also, a lot of these girls admit they were stoned at the time. Doesn't help your testimony.

I wonder what emails JG has that refer to consent to BDSM activities?

I bet he ends up in rehab for a few months or more then re-emerges magically 'healed' somewhere in the US.
"Rape" per se is no longer a crime in Canada. It has been subsumed in the notion of "sexual assault" which is any unauthorized touching which has a sexual component - i.e. crotch-grabbing, tit-grabbing, all the way up to actual forced intercourse or forced fellatio. So she simply doesn't realize the law has been changed. She was clearly sexually assaulted, on her account of what happened.

Re being stoned, the assault was so clear, I doubt her being stoned is going to give him a defence. It's not like she was high and therefore may have been mistaken whether the guy's hand was on her shoulder or her tit. The best defence is the passage of time and defence counsel suggesting she's a bandwagon-rider.

I believe she meant that it wasn't 'rape' at the time, not now. She's a lawyer too IIRC. (When did that definition change?)

I find it interesting that the Police launch a multi-million dollar investigation into Rob Ford's activities but then it comes to numerous allegations of beatings and sexual assault against JG the Police throw up their hands and say, nothing we can do until someone files a complaint.

So let's see - While I was an intern at the CBC, JG never tried to sleep with me, barely acknowledged my presence, but......I have a lot of bad shit to say about him because he's a creeper.

I get it now.

What a steaming pile of shit written by a dumb ass who just feels she needs to be heard.

Unless you believe you were victimized by JG, I wish these women (Polly Shannon - JG never abused me, but he did repulse me, so he must be guilty) would just shut the fuck up. And if you were victimized, go to the police and have him fucking charged.

I hear you, but we've heard from real victims why they were afraid to go to the police or contest this superstar at their former employ.

They may not have experienced first hand his violent tendencies, but they heard or knew about how creepy he was.

The creepiness surrounds his inner aggressive persona. Unfortunately, it seems incriminating, but it doesn't mean a creep is a sociopath or worse.

JG is a public figure, and in this day and age of social media and online blogs, one can be open to more criticism, etc.

(Just watched CP24's phone interview with Michael Cooke, the CBC head, who mentions that JG showed them a video of bonded woman subject to beatings, of which he claims was consensual. Unless we hear from that participant, I suppose it was consensual.)

Years ago. And jamming your fingers into someone's vagina without her consent has always been sexual assault. I think she is just saying that she was naive and confused at the time.

BREAKING NEWS:

Alleged Ghomeshi victims have come forward to police:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...ard-to-police-about-ghomeshi/article21416903/

Two women come forward to police about Ghomeshi

Two women have come forward to Toronto Police about Jian Ghomeshi and an investigation has begun, police spokesman Mark Pugash said.

Since he was fired by the CBC on Sunday, nine women have come forward to accuse the former Q host of physical abuse. One of those women, actress Lucy DeCoutere, is among the two who came forward to police, the Toronto Star reported Friday

Michael Cooke is Editor-in-Chief of Torstar, not CBC head.

Anyway as already posted, TPS have now opened a criminal investigation based on two women coming forward. I hope they nail this sick prick.

This must be the ultimate media driven story of all time(in Canada). I don't know who this person is nor do I care. Most people I know, never heard of this guy before the story broke. I mean, who watches CBC, anymore?

Pretty epic description of all the events leading up to his firing here:

http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/...wed_cbc_video_of_bondage_beating_sources.html

and also a very thorough report of the CBC meeting with Ghomeshi here:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...cs-decision-to-fire-ghomeshi/article21396998/

Amongst some of the interesting revelations: it was the Twitter account back in April that was Ghomeshi's first warning that his sexual M.O. could be revealed to the public, and Jian tried to demonstrate to the CBC how he always obtains consent by sharing multiple personal bondage videos.

Meanwhile, here is yet another explanation of why some women are reluctant to come forward, and also a theory about how Ghomeshi's attempted defence, although desperate, could have possibly worked...

It was a legally ill-founded claim (since a unionized employee like Ghomeshi has no standing to sue an employer). But it would also have had the impact of scaring off potential complainants who might be intimidated by Ghomeshi’s aggressive litigiousness, not to mention the prospect of being outed — truthfully or not — in his version of events as willing BDSM participants.

But the gamble didn’t pay off....Although it was unsuccessful, Ghomeshi’s gambit was not inherently foolish. Given the awful allegations he knew were about to emerge, his only hope for retaining his reputation was to cast himself as the unjust victim of an unfounded dismissal and of false allegations. There was a good possibility that it would have worked. Victimized women have great difficulty reporting on their accusers. They would risk social shaming, (“slut-shaming,” as my 18-year-old daughter refers to it) self-doubt, his legal team’s investigations into their sexual background, unwanted potential publicity, media scrutiny, questions as to their motives, and the glare of the cameras. All of those normal problems are dramatically enhanced by the story of consensual BDSM — something your average accuser wouldn’t want their mother reading about.

In my experience, it is extremely difficult to have women come forward with sexual harassment allegations. Invariably, they want promises of confidentiality. Although those promises are often made, they are invariably false. The accused party also has legal protections, including the right to know the name of the accuser and the details of the accusation.

I had to check. 1985 was the earliest reference in the history notes. You're right, and yes, I thought him fingering her was enough for her to go to the police and have him charged back then.

My bad. Yeah, just heard that too. Did you see the statement by his ex-band mates who came to his defense?

I don't think this would have gone the way it did had JG not posted on Facebook basically saying "yeah, I'm into BDSM, so what. It was all consensual" and then taunted the Star into printing the story. Had he just kept his mouth shut I suspect things may have gone differently but his enormous ego and arrogance got in the way. This in turn prompted others to come forward with their stories. Is it fair what people are writing? Maybe not, but he poked the bear and he deserves what he gets IMHO.
Exactly.

In fact, Ghomeshi posted last Sunday that the CBC had offered him the chance to announce that he had left the CBC -- ie., make it look like he quit.

Instead, Ghomeshi announced that he had been fired, that he was going to sue for $60 million, and he claimed the CBC's managers were being prudes because he said they had discovered he's kinky (but, according to him, it was all consensual).

Ghomeshi was the one who decided to have the fight in the court of public opinion.
