What people in Canada saw was the Benny Hill Shows of around 1977, those were pretty racy.
I was in the UK in 1995 at traveling the British triangle from Aldershot to Ashford, Kent to London on a regular run. When I was not working there was not much else to do except watch the telly. The BBC has many channels and were running the recent Benny Hill Shows a few years after it was cancelled. Canadians never saw what they were showing towards the end. Benny Hill was getting old and tired, the writing on the show was getting really bad. and they used sex to fill in the time on the show. At the very least the female dancers were topless and wore postage stamp sized bikini bottoms and just a string in the back. Some of the dance routines and segments on the show were all out nudity.
