Perhaps my train of thought de-railed. I doubt most guys using SPs are broke, and $20 here or there makes a difference. But we all want to feel like we got a deal, and nobody wants to pay list pricing or (to borrow a term from the Hotel Industry) Rack Rate (Which if you think about it is hilarious,)
My suggestions offer a win-win approach, rather than a stand fast 'NO!, which I believe in the long run is bad for any business.
I hope SPs don't view them selves as hourly workers ( I will NOT take less than $x/h!) but more as small business owners who, just like them have expenses and other concerns, however at the end of the day, need to make a certain amour of money per week.
If someone tries to negotiate, counter his offer by increasing your rate by 10%.
If he objects and says that's not how you negotiate, raise it another 10%.
Caller: Hi, what are your rates?
SP: 160/hh and 250/hr
Caller: Is that the best you can do for me, I am young and hot and hung. You will have a great time.
SP: Ok, 200/hh and 200/hour
Caller: wait, what?
SP: You want to make it a better deal right?
Caller: Yes, but you went up in rates
SP: well exactly, I am special because I will have a young, hot and hung guy like you right?
Caller: Ya, I will make it all about you
SP: Great then the special for me is 200/hh and 300/hour
Caller:........
SP: oh you meant special for you?
Caller: Ya!
SP: Sorry, you are not that special, but I will be happy to see for you for 160/hh and 250/hh

Early in my career I realized that men enjoy having a challenge to conquer, even in their pursuit of SP's, and got a greater sense of satisfaction if they had to work a little to get an appointment ... so I quit answering my phone and only returned calls that left messages. I made all new clients pursue me ... and it worked!

Super Agreed. I recently had someone ask me to lower my price to 40% of my lowest session donation, and when I said no, he threatened to write bad reviews of me all of various sites unless I complied.
So I shared his contact information with blacklists all over Ontario. It's alright to be attracted to someone and want to see them but accept that it is out of your price range. However, it is completely unacceptable to harass or intimidate someone because you do not want to pay what they are asking for.
Would you go into Whole Foods and when you get up to the cashier negotiated with them about the price of the sack of Spelt flour you wanted to buy ? I think not ! Bbd

This is WHY I post my rates. I do have some restrictions that, when asked, I will be perfectly upfront about. It has lost me many potential clients but I'd rather be upfront and honest on the phone than have someone expect something of me I'm not comfortable with giving. Plus I don't believe in the upsell thing. I'd rather have an open conversation so that both parties are in agreement with the price and what is being offered. It makes the whole session so much more relaxed and enjoyable.
