how does Doug help in the massage business?..he's for them? This election I'm voting with my business interests. Despite my personal belief/values/needs.
Sadly, Ford presents the best option. For that reason only.
I sincerely wish the next election I'm not in such a circumstance & can vote based on what best suits all aspects of my life.
Sigh.
Thats what you HAVE to do in politics though. Sometimes you have to compromise.Tory is all about compromise
At this point in time, we're going to have to compromise because Toronto is decades behind many cities. I imagine it would cost tens or maybe hundreds of billions of dollars and decades of construction just to get our system to the current subway system of other cities. It's sad that we've left the transit system decline for so long that it's basically impossible to expand it.Tory is all about compromise, would rather have someone like Doug who will fight to stop things like road tolls (Tory supported), bag taxes, etc. Tory has said we should have been building subways over the last 20 years, but has compromised by proposing running above ground trains down the middle of streets like Eglinton.
EXACTLY.Thats what you HAVE to do in politics though. Sometimes you have to compromise.
If as mayor you dont wanna do that you might as well install a dictator who does what he wants
I don't like any of them, but Olivia is the least offensive.
For those conservatives who want more subways, remember it was Harris who filled in the Eglinton one just as it was getting started.
I disagree on each of those. If I may add. The least intelligent, trustworthy, informed, likeable, suitable, on and on and on. She just wants to get elected. What a disaster Toronto would be.
Under Miller there were parties, strikes and shutdowns of the ttc. Miller did not rock the boat, built consensus, and what was accomplished.I disagree on each of those.
Anyway, I can only see Chow and Tory being able to build a consensus on council. Miller was able to do this, same with all past mayors except Ford.
Nothing can be done with a lone vote, no council backing and a lot of bluster. The Ikea monkey could be mayor and we could see consensus and compromise. It takes someone willing to fight if you want to build subways or contract out garbage.
I find Chow at least as offensive as the Fords. They are all disingenuous, opportunistic and self-serving.I don't like any of them, but Olivia is the least offensive.
Council is working fine now without a mayor, we are coasting along.Nothing can be done with a lone vote, no council backing and a lot of bluster.
