Is John Tory that "kind"?

Tory supporters, who stood behind him holding campaign signs as he spoke (during his press conference on Sunday), were also present at Chow’s conference earlier in the day.

Moments before Chow was set to speak, Tory supporters wearing campaign T-shirts and buttons walked up behind her, offering Tim Hortons coffee and doughnuts to media gathered.

“We’re just being kind,” explained Tory Sunday afternoon, adding that the conference was held near his campaign headquarters at Wellesley and Bay Streets.

Its an election campaign. Does anything more need to be said?

You must be real nervous for Doug's chances for all these threads you are posting.

The latest poll at the globe says Tory is way out front, Olivia in second and Doug third.

Thanks Groggy. I saw the numbers but didn't know who conducted the poll. It was a big sample (2,469) margin of error about 2%.

Tory.........40%
Chow.......25%
Ford.........23%
Undecided.11%

Done by Mainstreet Polling for those interested on Sunday just passed.

Tory is actually tied with Chow in the 18-34 age bracket(didn't see that one) and way high on all the rest.

Amongst decided voters......

Tory.........46%
Chow........28%
Ford.........26%

Interesting........

No doubt, this is one the burning issue this race. Right up there with square curbs. As ech passes you sound more and frazzled.

It was a stupid stunt by campaign workers who don't understand that their guy is leading by a wide margin and their role at this point is to avoid doing something that will blow up and undermine his position.

Does their team leader, John Tory, have enough class to apologize to Olivia Chow?

“We’re just being kind,” explained Tory.

Just wonder how many his supporters share his method to intimidate and attempt to shut down his opponent's press conference?

All I know is, listening to Chow speak is a sound worse than nails on a chalkboard.

I think this is the first time I've ever heard of buying coffee and donuts an "intimidating attempt to shut down a news conference".

Perhaps she should have been nice enough to do it when calling an early morning news conference.

Oh did you see Doug's latest numbers in Etobicoke and Scarborough. Seems for some reason Tory is well ahead in what should be his home bases.......

Haha..........is this Butler1000 or John Tory's donut and coffee serving Butler?

Don't think Olivia Chow would ever do that.........she got so much more class than John Tory does..........what would you think if "moments before JohnTory was set to speak (in his press conference), Olivia Chow supporters wearing campaign T-shirts and buttons walked up behind him, offering Hot & Sour Soup and Chicken Chow Mei to media gathered?...............would you just think Olivia Chow being kind?

I'd think they were really dumb for thinking up something like that that points out her racial background as opposed to handing out coffee and donuts like she probably would........

No that's my real answer. Mostly because other than you I can't think of anyone who's really thinks this is an issue. Not Chow or her campaign office. Not the press. No-one really.

My bet is it may have lightened the mood a little. Considering the workers did NOT actually stand behind her when she gave her address and took questions from the press.

But I suppose those horrible numbers that Doug is putting up are making you desperate for anything. And if this is the best you have then the campaign by Tory is already won.

Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing footage of the debate when I get home from work this morning. I'm hoping CP24 did good coverage, I set it to tape. Hopefully they kept it there.

I feel desperate because of Doug Ford?

Guess you didn't read the post I said now with Rob Ford out I won't vote meaning I won't vote for anyone including Doug Ford.

Even though Doug Ford got much more city hall experience than John Tory, I don't he has done enough internship to be the city mayor.

"....other than you I can't think of anyone who's really thinks this is an issue. Not Chow or her campaign office. Not the press. No-one really"?

No complaints from Olivia Chow or from her office yet, officially.

Not the press? Guess you forgot reading the post#1 of this thread. So for your benefit let's me re-post:

And where is the press reporting it as negative? I don't see any negativity there. None. Just reporting something.

Guess he found it amusing as well, and just added it on.

Oh ya, I forgot you aren't voting. For someone who in theory can't muster any support for anyone you sure are taking a lot of time out for Tory.

Well I suppose when Doug or Olivia says something worthwhile......you might then?
