Rob Ford is in the groove

When organizers of the Jesus in the City parade got the call last week from City of Toronto staff that because of road work, the permit for their event was being pulled, it didn’t take long for Mayor Rob Ford to spring into action.
Staff said they were unable to offer an alternative route for the event and, with allegations of religious discrimination in the air, Ford came to the rescue and the parade is back on.
This is the Ford voters in 2010 knew and trusted.
The man who earned a reputation for customer service after nearly 10 years as a city councillor, getting solutions to problems — large and small — for taxpayers not just in his Etobicoke ward, but right across the city.
This will play well for Ford in his bizarre run for re-election.
With recent polling showing him hot on frontrunner John Tory’s heels, and with a smaller pool of voters now wanting him to resign, Ford is very much in the hunt for a second term.
