I was at a Home Depot today and saw two young guys that were not in uniform leading a guy into the back room. The perp was walked through the store with his hands cuffed behind his back. I did not see them apprehend him. I do not know if there was a struggle. I would like to know if store employees can put hand cuffs on a shop lifter?

I would think not. Could have been plain clothes cops though.

I know they have the power of arrest, but as for cuffing, not so sure.

Most likely undercover cops picking up someone for shoplifting or a wanted perp they tracked down at the store.

They did not look like cops, it was two young guys in their early 20s. One was oriental.

Which Home Depot?

I heard one of them has a dungeon in the back catering to gay tradesmen.
.....................and you know this, how?

BTW - Stop stuffing your pockets at Home Depot, at least not in front of Chinese guys.

Did they strip you down for a full body search?

Security Guards now under Provincial Law MUST as part of their training take an accredited "Use of a Force " training course as well as basic handcuffing skills. They are then allowed to carry, use handcuffs as part of their job if required.
