Likely just a hoax from some stupid little troll living in his parents basement.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford says City Hall has been the subject of a bomb threat, after he said an anonymous e-mail sent to Councillor Doug Ford said that if the mayor does not resign, "City Hall will blow."

The mayor made the announcement at City Hall Monday afternoon, saying he has been in touch with police. He said police had advised against evacuating the building.

"It mentioned my name, that if I don't resign immediately, that the place is going to get blown up," Mayor Ford told reporters.

"This is very, very serious. I don't want people to panic, but we're aware of this and police are working on this as fast as possible to find out who sent it."

Mayor Ford said the e-mail was sent Sunday night to both the mayor's brother, Councillor Ford, as well as Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly's office.

He said he expects bomb-sniffing dogs will be sent to City Hall.

The mayor, who has been the subject of threats in the past, said it was his own decision - and not at the advice of police - to publicize this particular threat. "I'm acting on my own advice, just to let people be aware. When I get something this serious sent to my brother's office and the deputy mayor's office, it's only appropriate that the mayor addresses this."

Toronto Police Constable Jenniferjit Sidhu confirmed Monday afternoon that officers are investigating after a call regarding a bomb threat.

"In terms of whether it's a high priority, it's always viewed as a high priority whenever there's a bomb threat," she said.

Or just hizzonor sending a fake threat in a drug-addled attempt to garner some sort of public sympathy. ...but I see your comment already has that one pretty much covered too.

Sympathy he will not get, but free publicity he's won.

RoFo is no doubt the type who thinks that if he's got haters, he must be doing something right.

Its interesting how a death threat against hundreds of people is entirely ignored by the Lefties on TERB. Amazing, that....

LOL that's entirely possible. Also the broken English in the fake threat would appear to suggest that the sender of the e-mail is infact a member of Ford Nation.

Rob Ford should be flattered. It just ads to his self centred ego that he thinks he has celebrity status.

It seems like a scene from Police Academy or Naked Gun series where by the Mayor announces the bomb threat which is exactly what you are NOT supposed to do.
He get's threat Sunday - arrives at noon Monday (just in case) so by his logic everyone but him was a risk.
He makes the announcement and then goes back to his office to meet with a mother & child - huh?

Seems like Rob Ford himself didn't take it seriously either: he made the announcement AT City Hall where the bomb is suppose to blow up!!
So Rob Ford knew the location of the Bomb? Doesn't sound right. Someone wanting to blow up city call would not let anyone know the location of the bomb.

I'm not buying it.

There is no bomb threat as long as Mayor Bumboclot is kept away from the refried beans.

I think it was likely a deflection - whenever there is bad news coming they throw a distraction. Chief serves Doug Ford, top story, oh look there's an eagle.
They probably get them all the time - no biggie - part of public office but they dug one out from some time ago and decided to read it aloud to the public - a semi-mis-truth.
Why show the letter? Why? because they know its not quite true so lets boldly provide proof.
I noticed it wasn't dated.

So what's Bill Blair's next move, raid the mayors office, plant some crack and hull him away in cuffs? You know I would if I was Bill Blair. So what? Are they going to fire me? Blair has nothing to lose. Just a thought.

Blairs next move was already made. His terse statement "Doug Ford is lying........." was loud enough.........
Now Doug has to either suck it up (and he is gonna)........... as a businessman he knows the only way to save his wallet will be to say sorry.
Cases like these are simple - give one a chance to retract before you proceed.
Prefacing everything he says with "in my opinion" doesn't cut it.

I just meant the threat is to blow up City Hall and yet Rob Ford made the announcement there, which shows he doesn't really take the threat seriously.

Maybe the mad bomber was inspired by this video to get rid of a huge stinking hunk of blubber.

People who make bomb threats against the Mayor are just as stupid as anyone who is going to vote for him. Why give this guy more press. Just shut up and don't vote for him, that's the smartest thing anyone could do.
