By-law enforcement officers will consider handing out a fine to a mayoral candidate in the wake of Ford Fest, but not to the one you may be thinking of.

According to City of Toronto spokesperson Jackie D'souza, bylaw staff will meet with senior municipal licencing and standards staff next week to “determine the appropriateness” of charging Sarah Thomson with an offence after she rode a horse into Thomson Memorial Park on Friday night, violating a section of the city’s by laws which bans members of the public from bringing a horse into a public park.

Thomson was heckled by Ford supporters as she rode into the annual community barbecue alongside several campaign volunteers shortly after 5 p.m.

Thomson then left a short time later after bylaw enforcement staff informed her that she was in violation of section 608-33 of the parks bylaw.

Three by-law enforcement officers were on hand at the event after a number of residents expressed concern that Ford would use the barbecue to campaign, however D'souza told CP24 that there were no violations of the “permit conditions related to putting up election signs or distributing campaign literature” reported.

To be fair with Rob Ford who follows the rules I hope the City will go ahead and charge Sarah Thomson.

I thought her stunt was hilarious.

Too bad Stintz didn't participate in a wet t-shirt contest. She would have stole the show!

Thought it was risky to take a horse in to a crowd like she did. If the horse was spooked it would have been a mess.

Agree with Ref, a wet t-shirt contest would have been better, maybe Stintz would join her.

Wearing sneakers rather than riding boots, having no hard cap and using a western saddle should have been separate by-law violations

Interesting........

But "SHE ISN'T ROB FORD" ...................

Will the unionized City Staff charge her?

Thomson made herself look foolish. As did Stintz. Not surprised - both ladies lack any semblance of common sense.

The other people who lack common sense is the bueracrats, they should not behave like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld.

If we did deep enough into the letter of the by-law, they could find something. Otherwise, who cares.

Let the people have their fun.

The only people who did not have fun was the Tory campaign, and the Chow, because now they know what they are up against.

Also, those Liberals at Queen's Park. They are safe for now. But they better do something for Ford Nation. Unlikely they will though, except raise taxes.
