Ouch..

Lind says he's likely out 6-8 weeks after suffering a non-displaced fracture in his right foot, MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports.

In other news the Yankees have lost Tanaka to the dl and maybe Gardiner as well. Boston waived A.J. Pierszinski as well.
As soon as I heard about Tanaka on Wednesday I immediately thought the Yankees will make a deal for Price in the near future. Certainly by late July.

I think, maybe, if you want to take something positive from these past couple of days ... Jays won on Tuesday and although they lost on Wednesday they scored seven.
The bats may be waking up.

Does anyone find the Lind revelation slightly odd/troubling.. his mother made him get the MRI?

http://www.bluebirdbanter.com/2014/...en-foot-sidelining-adam-lind-for-six-to-eight

Where were the medical/training/coaching staffs through this?

I know firsthand that north of the border they don't like to dole out the trip to the MRI tube unless absolutely necessary but ball players get a full mock up at the best facilities when they break a nail.

Bring in AJ Pierszynski as per AA's pattern of picking guys off the waiver wire? He could be Kevin Seitzer new pet project? If it were up to me I would bring him in for a chump change!

I don't think that Pierzynski should be on the Jays' shopping list. He's renowned to be not a very good clubhouse guy. Besides, don't the Jays have 3 catchers already?

On Pierzynski: his clubhouse issue could be confirmed by his ex-teammate-Buehrle
I believe AJ can play 1B so if everything else is equal he could be worth a cup of coffee...lol!

What is your infatuation with a 37 year old back up catcher that has attitude? In what way do you see him helping the Jays? The cellar dwelling Red Sox released him, why would the jays want him? Mediocre bat, no improvement at catcher, Jays have lots of veteran presence, what would he bring to the Jays that might improve them?

Maybe they could add Soriano's bat to the lineup? I'm sure he'd fit in quite well with all the Dominicans on the team.

Thanks but no thanks. Hits a few HR's but brings little else.

I don't think AJ has ever played first in the majors and he does not strike me as athletic enough to pick up a new position unlike Joey Batz ...

and then there is this from Rob Bradford of WEEI:

A microcosm of Pierzynski's approach was mentioned by more than one of the backstop's former teammates, who revealed his propensity to spend a significant amount of time looking at his phone while at his locker during games. In one instance, after a particularly rough outing in which the starting pitcher had been pulled early in the game, Pierzynski could be found staring at his phone while the pitcher gave off the appearance of being an emotional wreck just a few feet away. That incident paved the way for at least one complaint to management from a teammate.

What is he doing? Sending out dick pics Brett Favre-style? Pass...Starlin Castro is a fish they want to fry now that Cubs are dealing. Helps with Reyes' sore wing for years to come.

Reimold on 15 day DL. What else can go wrong, he looked good the first few games but that's the chance you take when you pick up a guy who is constantly injured.

Kawasaki is back. He had a leg cramp.

Asked how he feels. Good. I eat bananas.

Oh?

Monkeys never crap.

I eat bananas. Monkeys never crap.

He meant cramp. You had to be there. Funny as hell. Love this guy.

Combination of poor defence and a poor contribution from Happ in relief is putting tonight's game out of reach. 2 - 2 becomes 8 - 2. Ouch.

Don't often blame luck...but there were some seeing eye singles today against Happ. And can Francisco cover any ground?

Here
So, over the next 4 days or so AA has to make some very big decisions... are the BJ's buyers or sellers with this staff?

2 and 8 over the last 10 games is not very encouraging... but was 20 and 5 only a mirage?

Options for sale: Dickey, Happ, Redmond, Santos, Dalabar, Morrow, Wagner, Rasmus, Kratz, Thole, Francisco, Gose, Pillar... not all of them, of course, but 3 or 4... and some of them may not even be salable!

I think the only guys other teams want are Stroman and Sanchez....and we better keep them. Morrow maybe at a bargain price. The Jays had to stay healthy to win cuz they dont have depth. Dan Johnson batting fourth against a left hander says it all.
