So what's the best place to buy an electric shaver in Toronto? The cheapest I've found so far is

Cookstown Outlet Mall (aka Tanger Outlets) is at Hwy 400 & 89. They have a Phillips/Black & Decker store that often has geed prices on Phillips products.

I find that the best time to buy electric shavers is at Christmas or Fathers day. They buy a lot of stock and put it out at special prices. I noticed this year that Best Buy and Future shop had shavers on special as well. Micro screen shavers are good for light whiskers, for heavy whiskers a Remington rotary shaver is better.

I was considering buying a shaver (Braun 7 series) from Mercury last year, but then HBC had it on sale for less, and I was able to use a discount code and get HBC points on top of that. I do go to Mercury for shaver parts.

Just bought myself the Braun 7 a few weeks ago. Used airmiles. Noticed it's also available on the Air Canada Aeroplan miles program too.

I find that Braun is a better quality product than Remington. I had both and the latter seems to pull at the hair and it hurts when shaving the sensitive parts down there.

Forgive my ignorance, but is this general body shaving or more delicate areas? I'm cool with my manly chest, but I've considered shaving elsewhere beyond the basic trim. My fear is nicks and cuts.

I find electric shavers are generally worth what they cost..

A shitty $25 shaver is going to rip at the hairs, take forever to get the job done, or break after the first couple of months.

I'm a big fan of Personal Edge. There's usually one or two staff at their store that will know what the fuck they're talking about and be able to help you choose the right shaver.

Right, but you can actually shave the entire area, as opposed to just trim?

I have used an electric shaver all my life. Got my first one as a gift when I started to shave. Go with the Braun 7 series from the Bay $249.99. It's well worth it. Get some face cream to keep the skin smooth. Also, once in while treat yourself to nice proper shave at a barber.

I recently bought the Braun 7 Series from Walmart. At $299 it's a bit pricey, but it's worth every penny. I tried literally everything to avoid bumps, razor burn, etc. (Exfoliating, pre-shave creams, post-shave creams, 5-blade razors, extra sensitive gels, etc) I have super sensitive skin and nothing ever worked. After buying this electric shaver I can safely say all my problems are gone. I know it sounds like I'm running a commercial here, but shaving was such a problem for me I'd do it once a week at best. Now I can shave every day no problem. Obviously it's not as close as a manual blade razor, but it's so close that you'll be the only one who knows the difference. I highly recommend it.

Also, you really get what you pay for with these things. Many years ago I had a cheap $50 one and swore off them because it always left me with redness and bumps. Shelling out the extra for a high-end one means I can shave with no itching, no redness, no bumps. I can even use it on my sensitive areas without worrying about nicks or cuts (obviously do so carefully, though). Get a quality one and you'll thank yourself later.

I have sensitive skin, too. Electric foil seemed to be way less irritating to my skin than the rotating heads. Best solution for me is shaving every 2-3 days. A quick go over with the electric, not worrying about getting too close.. Then Mach 3 blade with Gillette fusion hydragel fragrance/dye free. Never get any redness, cuts, bumps any more.
