You may be off your meds, a 2012 article about a charger connector has fuck-all to do with the toxic hellstew of fragmented android malware.... malware - the point of your OP....

So, basically, Apple was doing the exact same thing by changing connectors, so that people wouldn't buy 3rd party versions. Essentially clamping down, to make more money.
Much like if you don't buy Google, you may be potentially screwed, UNLESS, you buy directly from Google. Smart move on Google's part if you ask me, from a business perspective of course.
Something your money frothing mouth should have understood. But you're too up apple's ass to see anything else.

One thing I should add, a LOT of Android users I've encountered tend to upgrade their ROMs and it takes a little know how to do so. A lot of Apple users are happy with a very tight environment, and that's fine, zero problem with that.

There are many 3rd party connectors available for Apple devices, including the "new" connector.... which makes your point (and it was a stretch) mute.... They had the old connector since the iPod days, it was time for a refresh.
