So I have been debating if I should get this done or not? Would like to hear from those who have done this. What was your experience like? Who did you use? What can I expect to spend and who would you recommend? What are the pros and cons? Thanks for the input.

Best thing I ever did. Had it done in 2001 or so. I had the flap procedure, but now with the advances in the past decade, you don't need to cut the eye at all.

Do the homework and get a very experienced local surgeon, and you can spend from 500-1000 per eye. Sometimes you can find a promo or sale, but make damn sure your doc has at least 4000-5000 procedures done, don't go with a newbie here.

I had it done in 2011. Best thing I ever did also. The only regret was not have it done earlier. My doc had over 70,000 surgeries under his belt when I had mine done. Mine cost me $2000 per eye...had both eyes done at the same time.
You get sidelined for a few days wearing sunglasses and being careful not to do anything that would cause anything to touch your eyes but was back driving 3 days later with 20/20 vision.

Also had mine done, maybe about 3 years ago. Hands down no regrets. Sex is amazing, swimming and also fighting. Just find a good deal and surgeon.

I had it done about ten years ago and I agree with the other posters about it being one of the best things I've ever done. I paid a lot for it and saw a bunch of ads on the subway offering much cheaper rates and thought to myself that having someone shoot a laser into my eye wasn't the kind of thing I want to get done on the cheap.

Had it done about 15 years ago, and just recently had to get reading glasses! Best 4K I ever spent. I used to ski alot, and still play hockey, and there was nothing worse than having to put in contacts, or wear glasses while playing any sports. Definitely don't regret it one bit. Haven't looked into it since I had it done, but I'm sure the procedure has improved!

I did not get surgery and 3 out of 4 people I talked to are having issues with nighttime driving and lights from other cars at night. That was my deal breaker.

Closest I ever got to lasers was sharks with frickin' lasers on their heads. With so many fly by night laser eye surgery sweat shops, I'd shop carefully if I were you. Short term effects are apparently wonderful. Mid to long term effects of botched surgery will make your old age retirement seem like it's an eternity in hell.

i have had to wear glasses since i was 15 (48 now) had it done last year has i had to get bifocals and they did this procedure called mono vision where in practice one eye is done for reading and the other for distance. First month after the operation it was great other than halo vision at night, but in the last 4 month i am back to wearing glasses for distance That being said my vision is still 80% better than it was i can now function without glasses if i had to, where as before i could not I do have the life time adjustment so i will be going back to see if the can tune them in a bit better

With a competent/excellent surgeon, this is not an issue. It's all in the prep and the planning for what they do to the eye. Some eyes are not meant to be lasered, and if they tell you that, don't have it done. It's those people who end up with complications.

I had it done at the Toronto TLC (Yonge St.) location 10 years ago and like most here am extremely glad I did it. I'll soon need reading glasses, like many people do beginning in their 40's, but was told that when I had it done. Like AndyQuest I had both done at the same time as I had a driving job then and couldn't afford to take too much time off. I had them done on a Friday and was back to work Monday. The first time I drove at night I noticed a slight halo effect, but have either acclimatized to the point that I no longer register it or it has dissipated. It cost me $6,000 as I have a thin cornea and they had to use a laser instead of scalpel to create the corneal flap. I experienced bit of itchiness and discomfort while healing, but no pain whatsoever. I'm certain the technology has improved greatly since then. I'd highly recommend having it done theycallmebruce!

I haven't had laser surgery but i have had "mono vision" contacts prescribed. What a junky idea. Couldn't see distance or close clearly. When I first heard they were doing laser with this premise I just felt sorry for people. Seems like a poor compromise.

I saw on tv within the last six months that there was a new dual procedure someone in TO was doing with basic laser and an additional adjustment or lense for reading. Not sure what became of this and haven't seen it advertised.
