It baffles me how drivers cannot follow their lanes. Going north on Bathurst at Queen intersection right lane cuts into center lane. Hello, right lane should stay on right lane. It's no wonder lane markings are on intersections for idiots who don't know which lane they are on.

Here
Driving too slow in the passing lane is one of the worst. Road traffic studies prove again and again that the repercussions on traffic flow are horrible.

These are the people who are never themselves involved in collisions but cause tons of them.

Exactly. I cannot stand people who tailgate. Some seem to do it for no reason. Last night there was an idiot on the Gardiner tailgating a car in the RIGHT lane, with an open left lane with only me in it six or seven seconds back. He could have pulled left and passed but just sat there inches from the other guys bumper for a couple of minutes, I'm watching this thinking "what the fuck".

Eventually this pickup truck comes along at a higher speed and just before it passed idiot makes a sudden lane change to squeeze inches in front of the pickup truck.

With no one else on the road.

Idiots!

Not signalling each and every turn and lane change in advance, well before cranking the wheel is at least as bad. Especially common is not signalling when starting up to enter traffic from a parking space at the curb.

Thank the Intelligent Designer for making telepathy genetic.

I have had that and it never distracted me from my driving.
My sympathies for your partner's lack of skill. Nonetheless I'd believe the drivers following you∏—too close or not—before I take your word for how you drove.

•Driving too slow in the fast lane:

Everyone has a different definition of what "slow" is. If you are driving 140km/h in the fast line of a hwy, and someone comes up behind you, tail gaits you for 1 min then flashes you. Get the fuck out of the way.

Anything that people do where they use their car to force others to follow their suit. Meaning that people who use their cars to police the speed of the road **** people who refuse to move over} People who use their car to force others to drive faster {tailgaters} People who use their cars are left lane turns to try and stop the person behind from being able to enter the intersection {this seems to be a new one as of late, I assume in an attempt to stop the car behind from finishing the turn during a red light.} People using cars to drive close to distracted driver to scare them or yell at them to get off the phone {because scaring someone or pissing someone off with a 2 ton vehicle is smart! LOL} People using their cars to block mergers, or to force merging or to not allow a bike to pass at a light.

People need to learn they are not the police and them do their job. Focus on being a safe and courteous driver.

If they tail gate me, I am not getting out of the way, I am going to apply the brakes. If they come up a reasonable distance behind me then then once I pass the next slow car to my right AND if I myself am not waiting to pass the car in front of me, then I will pull over. This is something idiot drivers who tail gate don't understand: if I would be driving faster if it weren't for the slower car in front of me, I am not pulling right.

The worst drivers on the roads are the tailgaters and they deserve collective punishment by the rest of us.

Isn't that what that half cup of cold coffee is for? Littering being merely a minor sin, especially if the cup is paper.

What a shitty article. Parking poorly is annoying but not deadly. How about needless lane changes for example, each time you change lanes increases risk. Also excessive courtesy can cause accidents. Don't jam on your brakes to yield to someone out of courtesy, this can cause accidents. Another one, don't do anything suddenly. If no one expects you to do something, your risk of an accident goes up quite a bit.

Causing an accident at 140 km/h makes way more sense than letting go of your macho, ego by pulling over, because drivers behind you, want to go faster.

Fuji is an idiot driver!

edit - ok read the whole post. Provided you are pulling over after passing thats ok. I hate driver who cruise in the left lane when they are going no faster than the lane to the right. i.s., two vehicles side by side going the same speed with no one in front of the left lane driver. I wish Ontario would adopt Quebec's law on this.
