FOR THE SP's: What is it with people who can't keep their own appointments?

I just don't get it. I leave it up to them to give me a time that works for them and they end up being late. I just had a guy ask for an appointment an hour from when he contacted me and so far the hour has been up and 30 minutes have passed and he's telling me he is still at work. He didn't tell me any of this, he just kept saying, I'll be there in ten minutes. Then finally he tells me that he's still at work. I'm here, I'm dressed and I'm ready and this guy only tells me now that he is stuck at work. Completely disregarding the fact that I have other appointments and I have a life. Then they have the nerve to try and book again and usually they end up doing the same thing the next time. I have a steep fee for no shows and I require a deposit just to get these people to leave me alone. When I say no, I get them begging me for weeks to let me see them. But as soon as there is talk of a deposit and a fee they shut right up.

I feel like I am dealing with a portion of the population that's too dumb to function normally. Like they are hopelessly pathetic and can't empathize with people. They don't realize that they are ruining it for everyone else. I mean, there could be a guy that just happens to have some bad luck one day, but I won't give him a chance because of all of the people that have burned that bridge. I had three guys give me the same convenient excuse almost back to back. At this point I have no patience for excuses, I have no patience for people being late. I am out in the country basically. So they can't say it's traffic. I can't wait for the day where I don't have to take on new clients.

Honestly, does anyone else have this problem? I think it's partly my location. Things are different out here compared to when I worked in the city.

Well, there are certainly a lot of people who have no regard for other people's enjoyment, safety, time or effort. Using a cell phone in the theater, texting and driving, showing up late to appointments, not acknowledging a helping hand; all are examples of people being a-holes. But a lot of people wouldn't register any of that as being a real problem.

In your case, they've made their own bed, and if you won't see them because of their mistake, they're going to have to accept that.

Sp's are just as bad with not keeping appointments on time.

Wish I had a dime everytime I heard "5 more minutes" .Which turns into 15-20 minutes.

One of my favorite providers from the past, the legendary Jube, used to talk about this. She called it "SP time", 5 mins = 15 mins.

This problem is not isolated to hobbying or with men. It seems that everyone has problems keeping appointments and letting others know if they're running late. The sad thing is that we have so much technology that reminds us about appointments, gives us directions, the best time and route as well as the traffic and weather conditions. Even then, some people are still consistently late or don't make appointments at all.

I don't know what happened, but being on-time never mind early is totally out of style these days.

Sometimes I feel like giving up being on time, no-one is around to appreciate it.

This is a large part of why people I have not met previously find it a bit harder to connect with me the first time. I have to be willing to have this happen and be able to fit it in. Unfortunately it simply cuts into time that might have been theirs to begin with. Example: I won't make plans unless I have time after to allow for conversation, clean up, travel to where I have to be, etc. I consider it the buffer zone.

Some people can't seem to help it... I have someone I see quite regularly who is notorious for being "on his way" for 30-55 minutes and I simply factor it into his booked time. If I cannot accommodate it with the rest of my schedule we simply wait until another time.

Admittedly I have run late a couple times for outcalls but I touch base regularly regarding traffic, etc. Thankfully the gentleman and couple who this happened with didn't hold it against me and a great time was had by all.

Yup happens all the time.
I agree some men don't care and have read a thread on here where the sp was just toying with the guy for standing her up the last time. Both sides have to deal with it and communication is key.

It's happening to everyone, there's a lack of basic respect for other people which is getting worse. I suspect a few guys are deliberate with it, to show they have the upper hand.
Be firm with them.

Sometimes things come up, people get stuck at work, or in a car accident, or sick. It sucks to be relying on income from a booked appointment that doesn't happen.
Many businessmen such as myself love the stress relief an encounter with a beautiful woman can provide but unlike the SP, the appointment is personal time and business is the priority. I think it is unfair not to call and provide an honest assessment on when you will be able to arrive. I don't book days ahead because it is too risky. I usually book the day of when I am sure I can get away. Sadly - I miss some popular talent because I can't book ahead but at least I'm not wasting someone else's time.

+1 I call if I'm going to be 5 minutes late. Most SPs don't show the same courtesy (this only applies, obviously, to the ones that ARE late) but I operate on my own level and don't rise or sink based on the company I keep.

It is even worse when you only pop into Toronto for a few days every month or two. Not scheduling ahead is a terrible issue unless you want the "variety" thing. I told my clients that I will start the clock when the appointment is scheduled. If they are late they still pay. I wonder if that could be a possible solution for escorts?

When I eventually find the right escort and I become a regular, I think I will request that option. Guilt free being late !!!

Happens in both directions.

I always plan to arrive at the SP location 15 mins before the appointment time.

For a 2pm appointment, I'm in the parking lot at 1:45. I text at 1:55 saying "I'm here.. let me know when ur ready" and invariably I end up sitting in my car till 2:15.

The few times I've been late (only 10-15 mins) everything worked out perfectly.

Difficult for me to show up on time now (especially with BP girls!) knowing I'll likely be waiting since she booked a 2pm with me and the last dude was there from 1-2 so she booked us back-to-back with no time to shower/clean up!

First of all: I apologize for the Indian guys who are sharp and real gentlemen. I have a few really nice Indian regular clients and I really like them. If you are one of my regular and you read this don't take it personally.

Unfortunately in my case 70% of the fake appointment makers, have Indian background. It's happen almost every day. I don't know why, but they almost never keeping the sharp time and they never call to cancel the appointment if something come up. They are disrespectful and they don't care your schedule or your time. Sometimes they just showing up 30 minutes later without any notice or a simple call: "Hi Iris I'm late but I'll be there shortly" or just showing up but they try to haggling here. "I have 100$ only" or "Other girls make it for 80$ so give me some discount".
I just kick them out and you know what? They take it as a personal offense. So they late, they haggling , they don't respect you and after that, I'm a bad person.
The result: I never take them seriously until they knock at my door, and if an other client ask an appointment for the same time I prefer that guy.

1. You're gorgeous and I had such an awesome time with you
2. I see where you're coming from but I would maybe have kept that opinion to myself....

Oh my! Welcome to the multicultural world. About 30 years ago when I first went to India I was commanded to take cultural awareness training. One of the hardest things for me was to wrap my head around the idea that NOT Haggling was an insult. Utterly alien to my mindset but experience taught me it was true. Next hardest was their cast system. In Canada I adopted the "oh you want to haggle? The price just went up 5%. Haggle long enough and it will get to double. It does not always work, but sometimes it does and it always makes me feel better :).

To quote a friend who was raised there.... "It is not personal, and you are slightly better than an untouchable :) "

Best of luck.

It's true though. I'm not racist but it's a pattern. They want more for less and they don't care about being on time. They usually want to get more personal (and that makes me uncomfortable). I like some of them though. They're not all bad but when they come and start asking for a discount right away I'm never surprised. It's not a stereotype, it's an observation. A few of my favourite clients are Indian. They are younger though and we have the same interests and they never try to haggle with me.
