So close, yet so far from Spring riding! Has anyone in the GTA been brave enough to get out on the road yet? A couple hours in the afternoon on the 2nd official day of the season were tempting...

i have been out on a couple of college lots prepping and "lot testing" the bikes out for the weekend M1 exit courses sponsored by Canada Safety council. some colleges are already fully booked til mid June. I personally have chosen to not teach any courses in April this year... dont love the cold that badly.

Its not just the cold. Its a good idea to wait for heavy rain (this weekend) to wash the roads of salt. Its safer and better for bike afterwards. Don't worry its almost time.

I get a kick out of riding in summer storms. There was a doozy of thunder and lightning storm in Durham last night, so I hopped on the bike and within a few minutes I was out in the countryside. It was the most amazing crazy weather ride ever. I was on a quiet country road and the only man made light anywhere was from my bike. The storm was unreal. Heavy, heavy driving rain, but the thunder and lightning was amazing. There was so much lightning coming down that the whole countryside was lit up like day and the thunder was just booming. At one point the thunder and the lightning were simultaneous. I think this means you are in the epicenter of the storm (?). I kept riding at a slow speed, fast would have been suicide, but this was the wildest storm ride that I have ever tried.

Just finished a day in the Ganaraska forest at trailtours, getting a half day of lessons on dirt bikes, then hitting the single track trails for the second half. Awesome experience!
