I was under the impression most women are turned off by a good man. They are attracted to spice and a little danger offered by the 'wild' stallion.

Or put simply, most women would prefer to try and tame a tiger than ride a mule for the rest of their lives.

And most guys would live as a tiger than as a sheep, whats the difference, we're all humans. yet society gives the ok for a girl to cheat, but when a guy does his whole estate can be shattered, talking about divorce settlements and etc

From a chick's perspective: if a Kim Kardashian, a Paris Hilton, the skanks of Jersey Shore etc etc all can find a "a man", so can they. So they continue with their dysfunctional lives.

If there was a strong message from parents and society to women (and men of similar values) that trashy shit won't be tolerated, well....you'd see things happen different.

I think that has always existed in a majority of women's minds at one time or another in thier lives, the courtship in many cases just ends sometimes.
And all us men, here on terb, are we deserving of the title Good Man

I guess the key is not to give them so much attention. If tiger egos exist, and they do, its our own damn fault!

EXACTLY!!! Since the early 80's the media has driven down the standards.

What is amusing is this theme was the basis of the plot in Mozart's opera Cosi Fan Tutti. It is not a new phenomenon on how some males think. But I also believe a thread titled Most Men Don't Deserve a Good Woman would be just as valid.

Well, our society teaches women "don't settle, don't settle, don't settle!" And so most of them look for that perfect package: looks, brains, wit, wealth. Not necessarily in that order. Of course, the more of those a man has, the more deficient he seems to be in other categories. That's a generalization though; there are a few "perfect" (well, near perfect) prizes out there. But not near enough to go around. And yet, most women believe they deserve them and have a shot at getting them.

When women say there are no good guys out there, it makes me want to slap some sense into them. What they really mean is, there are no perfect guys out there. There are plenty of "good" guys out there that they wouldn't look twice at; guys who would make excellent lovers, husbands, and/or fathers. But young women tend not to even see them until they're old enough that they're willing to "settle". And that's a shame. Especially that they consider it settling.

I have woman friends in their mid- to late twenties who seem to be incredibly stupid when it comes to relationships. They don't learn from past mistakes. They date the same kind of sleazy men every time. They don't see the red flags until they're in way too deep. And they blame all men for being douchebags when it falls through. What they really need to do is look at their own deficiencies and that it's their drive to find that "perfect" man that is leading to their pain.

Never take it personally nor seriously when a woman tells you that there are no good guys out there. Simply shrug in agreement. It'll throw her for a curve and stop the conversation from going further down that path. Don't be the good guy wasting time trying to verbally convince her there are good guys. Women who say stuff like this are only interested in a cry for attention. They either relish drama and want to hear themselves talk to you about their relationship issues to feel important, or you're talking to a woman that is deluded, confused, and unhappy and may be unhappy for the rest of her life, all the while continuing to be abused by poor choices in partners. The problem is theirs and they live with the consequences of it, not you. You'd be a fool to want to get into a relationship with a woman that actually believes that there are no good men or who has such a poor track record in partnering with decent men. If you are a good guy, she'll eventually drown you in her hellish and dysfunctional lifestyle.

It's best to be in a healthy relationship or single than be involved with a tyrant of the opposite sex.
