Singer Justin Bieber was arrested early Thursday for drag racing and DUI in Miami Beach, police said. Bieber was in a rented Lamborghini, police sources told NBC 6 South Florida.
No other details of the arrest were immediately known. Bieber has been spotted in different places around Miami in the past few days, including a Miami Beach skate shop in a photo posted on Instagram. The Opa-locka Police Department is also investigating an unauthorized escort of Bieber, a police spokesman said Wednesday.

The arrest is the latest brush with the law for the 19-year-old pop star, who catapulted to fame in the late 2000s after a talent manager saw a video of him on YouTube. A neighbor in Bieber's Los Angeles neighborhood recently accused the singer of causing thousands of dollars of damage by throwing eggs at his home, leading detectives to raid Bieber’s mansion in search of evidence. One person at the house was arrested on suspicion of drug possession. Neighbors have also called the cops in the last year with complaints that that Bieber drives recklessly around the neighborhood and plays loud music at parties that last into the early morning.

He's either self-destructing like other child stars (Dana Plato), or it's to gain some kind of street cred (Lindsay Lohan, Robert Downey Jr).

I'm not sure I'd use the phrase, "brush with the law" to describe this.

Having said that, apparently in Florida, the blood alcohol level in someone under 21 (as is Bieber) is only .02. Which is probably less than a beer...

How much do you have to drink (BAC*) for a DUI in Florida?

Under 21 .02%
21 or older .08%
Commercial .04%

Justin Bieber Admitted Using Pot, Prescription Drugs, Booze Before Miami Beach Drag Racing Arrest: Cops
Well on his way to becoming a member of the "27" club.

All that money and driving around with an expired driver's license. Guess you can't buy smarts!

Apparently are going to cut him a bit of a break since they aren't charging him specifically with the drag racing (although that could always be added later by the States Attorney).

I hear that he is being charged with DUI, Resisting Arrest (without violence), and Operating without a License.

He's not a US citizen. He's a guest in their country.
Seriously, why don't they kick him out?
I'd ask the same thing here for any misbehaving foreign national.

I wonder if throwing a girly boy into a jail cell without his 'protection' might scare him straight.

It's a little scary but I'm almost starting to relate to this little shit. If I was 19 and given $50 million dollars what would I do ? Strip club throwing $ 75,000 at the girls, racing a Lamborgini with a hot model by my side.... yeah, I could relate.

In Canada - a felony convictions of a landed immigrant can be grounds for deportation. I was curious about the brat and found this article:

Justin Bieber could go to prison for years -- very worst case scenario -- for his egg vandalism ... but he will NOT be deported to Canada.

There are stories circulating that the stakes are high for Bieber -- as in getting thrown out of the U.S.

Simply not true. The law is clear. In order to be deported for a crime, the offender must commit what is called an "aggravated" offense. The law lists the various offenses, including:

-- possession of explosive materials or firearms
-- possession of child porn
-- illicit drug trafficking
-- alien smuggling
-- threats against the President
-- Sabotage or treason

Eggs are not on the list.

There is one catch-all -- crimes involving "moral turpitude." But that's defined as crimes that shock the public conscience. Egging just doesn't cut it.

You can breathe easier now.

^ yes but: a huge number of offenses are considered as involving "moral turpitude" for immigration purposes. When a non-U.S. National wishes to plead guilty their attorney has an obligation to advise them that conviction may affect their immigration status - and the judge will generally ask them if they have been so informed.

Now is every such person deported, of course not, but can you be - that is a different question.

_ _ _ _ _

Having checked the current administrative guidelines for beginning deportation proceedings are conviction for a crime of violence and/or imprisonment for a year or greater.

He admitted smoking a joint and taking an unidentified prescription med. So the joint combined w a beer would probably genuinely impair him.

Apparently, his entourage used their motor vehicles to block off a suburban street so that Beebs and his posse could then race their Lamborghinis and Ferratis down the street. Allegedly not the first time this has occurred. Sounds like the coke, money and fame has gone to his head and he does not have the maturity to deal w it.

There's a pic in the Sun with him and his mother. I would do her if I got the chance.
She's all yours buddy. I read an article last year that she hasn't had sex for over 15 years, she could be a wild one now. Be careful though, don't get too close to her, she has a lot of baggage she carries around.
