Do I need a lawyer, or just contact police?

Thanks for all that great advice everyone. I've called the police and they said that they could send someone over to see me, or I could go over there. Regardless, it is extortion and they will act on it. I don't know their time frame, but I will keep you informed on this thread.
You're right, she does have some issues, and if necessary, I will reveal her name but I'll wait until I hear from the advice of the police.
Good for you for being able to figure out whose advice was worthy of following and for having the balls to do it.

Good luck Omega 600.

Reveal her name incase she tries it on with anyone else.
Don't bother. Like others, and myself, have said, it can only prematurely escalate the situation. Not to mention, in this business, names can easily be changed.

I'd be calling her bluff. I'd tell her you already forwarded the email to a lawyer and she's looking at 4 years minimum in jail. My guess is she'll buckle like an accordion.

This is a very disappointing situation for us SPs, and a horrifying one for you I'm sure. Yes, for preventative measures, it is always good to safeguard one's identity when possible but in your case having known her for years as well as travelling with her, knowing each other on a real first name basis seems natural if there was that trust. (Sometimes customs can really investigate your relationship with your travel buddy too). It does seem that this lady is suffering through some kind of mental health deterioration and a lot of pain, who knows exactly from what. It's unfortunate she chose to take it out on you. I don't think her threat is real, but I wouldn't rule it out totally. I would be concerned that after being unsuccessful with lashing out on others that she may lash out on herself (contemplate suicide, typical pattern).. she needs support. I would suggest a first step is to reply back with a tone of conern and sincerity, and see what are her real intentions and problems.. that may help hopefully!! Good luck and please let us know what happens!!
Are you out of your mind? Contact her with concern?

This woman is trying to ruin the guys life, call the cops and let them deal with it.

OP keep this in mind, if she's willing to pull this kind of stunt for 10K whats to say she's not gonna turn around next week and ask for 100k or claim that you raped her or beat her etc...

With people like this you don't give them a pass because they can destroy you and go to places you'd never imagine. Once you contact the police and she is charged any future story she might attempt to make up will not be taken seriously...

I suspect many escorts feel the same, we do use them and move on without a thought of their lives.

I fail to see how I am used or any escort.
I chose this line of work, I wasn't forced into it.
I book my appointments and decide who I want to see.
When you get to my door, I have the right to see you or not.
I am reimbursed for my time.

I do not feel used and we both move on without a thought about each others life, and that is how it should be.
If escorts feel they are being used they are in the wrong business.

I don't think many escorts do think like that, or they wouldn't be in business.

The lady states that people like her just fall apart, are all used up and then just fade away...........
Who knows why she feels like that, we can't judge her mental health, but it seems like she is crying for help!
Well said!

Just pondering another scenario - what if the emailer was spoofing the OP. Maybe the the SP lost her smartphone & some unscrupulous character was trying take advantage?

I'm no investigator, but the email seems just a little vague. I realize OP omitted some details, so I may be misinterpreting things. The email makes generalized references to the OPs private life & private lives of past clients, but nothing explicit saying that she/he/whoever will spill the beans if the OP doesn't cough up cash.

What the hell is "a 10 k run to freedom"??

Just wondering if the OP had instructions on how to make payment...or is it all just a little vague at this time?

I'm glad if that's true for you, many others aren't happy with how their life went. Of course it's the wrong business for them but they don't realize at the beginning that the easy quick money can take a toll on them.

I wonder how many other guys she's sent that email to? You could be one of many.
My thoughts exactly.

My other thought is, "this reveals what truly lies beneath the surface of probably many of the sex for hire women. Despite all the glossy ads, the myths that clients like to create, deep down, they loath us and despise what they are doing"

She never gave fuck about the OP. In fact, she probably hated his guts.

4 years?

I highly doubt that.

Guys rob variety stores in Toronto with a gun and get 30 days. (I'm not joking, that guy who shot Jane Creba on boxing day back several years had done an armed robbery and got 30 days.)

At the most, they will put her into the system which will give her a hard time and such, but she won't do any time in jail.

WTF!

OP regardless of what you do you're in the shit house with the wife so you better used to the ordeal. And don't give us the song and dance that you're broke, obviously you had the funds to string her along in the first place. Under no circumstance should you contact this woman. Work out your marital problems then take the e-mails to a private dick.

Why is the surly Dane trying to wrench money from Aardie?

idk, I was just going by what someone else posted in this thread who said that's what you get if convicted.

Over the years, I have known several of these black widows that lure people into their web and then suck all that is good out of them to leave them a dried out shell in the end. Once you become aware that this is happening to you. Fight to survive, hit them with everything you got. Let them know you will fight hard to keep what you have as they will fight to take it from you. If there is no jackpot for them, they will move on.
Absolutely agree with this. Go nuclear or you will be taken like a developing country.

I would ignore it. Save the email. But IGNORE.

IF YOU GO TO,POLICE, this will all blow up.....and your WIFE WILL FIND OUT. That is worst case scenario. Even if you go to police..she sounds vindictive and may well post on those cheater websites.

If you ignore.....she goes away..... You are not out cash.

Worst case scenario is wife finds out. Of course NEVER PAY CASH. She will just ask for more!!

And she knows it would be stupid to expose you!

IGNORE,!!

And lastly...you should be posting who it is. not a real name...but her SP name.

Went to the police at lunch. Told them all about it, got a video-recorded statement from me.
They have her real name, working name, address and current cell-phone number. They will act on it and not contact me via phone. They have my email address and will correspond if there's anything else.
I have a picture of her from when she helped me out and I'll be sending that to them as well.
Hopefully that will keep that situation out of the way, hopefully permanently.

did you get a feeling or were you told whether they feel they have enough to lay charges?

They are going to her and telling her the charges. They can't stop her from actually going through with it, but it will be a nice scare.
Wife's just upstairs now, so far none the wiser. I'd like to keep it that way.

there is no such animal as "telling the charges". There is a warning or there is arresting and laying the charges.
