What's wrong with Toronto Sports Bars?

They won't even put the Raptor game on one channel. This one place has seven screens, I don't believe this. Everytime I want to watch the Raps at a bar I always have to fight to get it on, even when the Laafs aren't playing. Am I the only Rapter fan?

If you look at the ratings of Raps games you will see us true fans are few and far between.

If you think there's an untapped market for a sports bar that shows raptors games, open your own. What else do you want your remedy to be?

Maybe popular belief is that most NBA fans in Toronto are black guys, and nobody wants to attract a bunch of black guys to their bar? At least that's the impression I get from some other threads here.

Perhaps you're going to the wrong place. Might I suggest a bar called "Hoops". I've never been, but with a name like that they'd damn well better have the Raps game on.

I just checked their web site and under events it says:

JOIN US FOR NBA
BE THERE @ HOOPS - For all your favorite NBA games. GO RAPTORS!

They have several locations including one on Bremner near the Dome and one on Yonge just north of College.

Canada is just not that into basketball. Funny since it was invented here. Globally ice hockey is 16th most popular sport while basketball is 2nd.

False.

Basketball was invented in Springfield, Mass.

Maybe they're afraid that Drake will be there. Having all your customers booing at the TV doesn't make for a very good atmosphere.
I've never watched a full basketball game in my life. I'd rather watch golf, or tennis... or paint drying.

Basketball is a sport that you don't have to watch until the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter but only if it's a close game. Unfortunately the last minute can sometimes take what seems like more than a half hour. I might miss a spectacular play but if the score is 40-35 in the 2nd qtr. I will watch something else and flip back about an hour later

So you simply don't like to watch the end game develop inn the earlier quarters, or watch some of the most skilled athletes in the world do their thing, fair enough. Why not just tune in at the end and get the final score?

I didn't realize until just recently how good the Raptors are playing.

Compared to other team sports, basket ball is tooooooo high scoring for my liking, I'd rather watch a "struggle to score" sport.
Compared to others sport like football and baseball there is more action in the game. Whole lot less standing around waiting for something to happen. Baseball has ~16 minutes and football ~10 minutes of actual action. I haven't seen figures on basketball or hockey, but it might surprise you how much more it is.

The minimal amount of action in Football and baseball does not concern me at all, it's the "anticipation/struggle to score" that I like, whether it's waiting for the "snap"( running play or pass play) or the "pitch" (batter waiting for "his" pitch).

Lacrosse is another sport I don't watch because of the abundance of scoring.
