Everything has a good side. If Canada adopts Nordic model, it will not stop local hardcore hobbyists but might stop from partaking some Americans which would keep the prices in check. We will have our little Cuban like paradise.
I don't believe either will happen, but as a number of TERBites have discussed it will be damn difficult to enforce the Nordic model on outcall.

An undercover cop applies for a job at an agency, goes on the call, and arrests the john when he hands her the money.
There are a number of ways for agencies to negate this type of sting. Besides which do you ever "hand her the money" I don't.

Further, it must be remembered that the Swedish legal system is quite different from ours. (Civil (Roman) Law v. the Common Law).

New prostitution laws should consider 'consenting adults': Terri-Jean Bedford

The federal government "should take consenting adults into consideration" as it crafts its response to the Supreme Court decision that declared three key prostitution laws unconstitutional, says one of the sex workers involved in the case.
In a unanimous decision released Friday, the court found that the laws that prohibit keeping a brothel, living on the avails of prostitution and communicating in public for purposes of prostitution are overly broad and infringe on prostitutes' Charter rights by depriving them of security of the person.
The laws will remain in place, however, as the court's decision is set aside for one year until Parliament decides how to respond: it can either amend the current laws or set the issue aside.

Both Bedford and Scott agree that the answer is not the so-called "Nordic model," which makes soliciting sex by "johns" illegal.
Bedford warns that such laws put men at risk by, for example, opening them up to blackmail.
"I don't think men should be criminalized for obeying a natural need either," Bedford says.
Scott adds: "There's always money involved when it comes to sex, whether it's sex work or not. But men should not be criminalized and vilified…We're all adults here. Don't treat men like they are villains simply because they like to have sex."

This tells me that Bedford doesn't grasp the socio-political issues at play here.

What if he hands her the money and says "this is just for your company, I don't pay for sex". In a few minutes the good officer either has to blow john or blow her cover.

That doesn't work for hiring hitmen either. Judges and juries are well equipped, as humans, to look at the whole situation in context and figure out what the money was really for.

Pay the under cover to "take care" of your wife, and when in context it clearly means kill, you won't get far in court playing language pedant.

You are wrong. I'll find a case to illustrate it.

* here is one classic case: http://canlii.ca/t/1z755
There is another one directly on point but the name escapes me.

PS: Hitman analogy is not applicable here. As a matter of common sense, one can be impotent or a eunuch but book an escort to look at her dancing naked or to ask her to do a lap dance.

"hand her the money and say this is just for the company not for sex" will work about as good as it is working in the states right now, tell that to the judge.

If they make it illegal, Im out period. I am not gonna commit an indictable crime and be happy about "the Americans being kept out", or have these ridiculous schemes to get out from arrest.

it sounds like simple minded crack dealers who get arrested with a ton of crack and their "full proof scheme" is to deny knowledge of anything.

the cops will have a million ways to arrest outcalls, here is one

Escort (agency) ad >>>> probable cause >>>> phone tap warrant from a judge >>>> monitor calls to the escort numbers >>>> when u give ur address the cops will show up and put u under arrest.

explain your scheme to the judge.

Ever lived in a country that wasn't a democracy, I doubt it.

seeking arrangement is legal in the states, so it actually works quite well.
But hey, the more cowards out, the lower the prices.

PS - it's a straight summary conviction offence now, there is no need to add a word "indictable" to seem smarter.

You are the smart ass wise guy here, with a crystal ball who can see the future (and read my intentions as well). its a sum. offence for what, a law that hasnt been passed yet? i thought it would be an indictable offence because in the US its a felony (in most states) and go read the punishments for UK. In comparison to the UK, US,......... i think its highly unlikely that new legislation in Canada would implement the nordic model with sum. offences at least not for 2nd time or more.

and u r calling me a coward? i didnt know committing a crime was a virtue. if it is you can have it all with the lower prices.

"seeking arrangement is working quite well"

wow, i thought u was the one who wanted to keep the Americans out. now it seems like they had it fine all along.

just to be clear here. I am under no obligations, nor will i reply any more, to comments by a rude individual w/- self esteem who quickly gets confrontational and starts name calling. I didnt get personal at all, i just commented on the arguments i could nt care less who made them.

I suppose there will have to be wierd "no money until I see you naked and stick my finger up your pussy" stuff. I doubt any cop would go that far.
