Uhm, you know it was the judge who did the sentencing dont you?? Not the TPA.

Also there was a white Toronto cop sentenced to jail for punching some kid at Caribana 5 or 6 years ago
They acknowledge that he was only one of several cops involved in the beat down...yet no one else got charged. I guess the TPA was upset that a brown cop had the gumption to beat on a white person. He didn't know his place.

Not enough people on both sides have gone to jail over the G20 debacle. More punk ass kids AND cops should have tossed into cells.

Yeah but those guys were white..so they get a pass.
....and they couldn't be identified, so you have no idea how many were white black or green. I guess you would want to see someone pick out any seven officers in the vicinity and charge them, go through the trial and based on flawed evidence, find them guilty.

Quite a few more seem to be guilty, but they illegally took off their name tags and, like any street gang, have refused to testify against those who were out of line.

It is outrageous that outside video was required to convict this one guy, when dozens of police officers witnessed his crime.

Police are making a strong case for wearing body cams.

Yup!! There's no reason for them not to wear one.

The public can use that famous saying cops have against them now. "If you got nothing to hide, you got nothing to worry about" :D

There are as many reason not to as there were three months ago, little has changed.
Much like three months ago, there are even greater reasons for it than against it.

It's just a matter of time, the technology and costs are improving...we all know how fast technology has moved in the last few years, don't we? It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. A good cop has little to fear, yet many (perhaps most) seem to dread the thought.

Will it happen on your lifetime? How about robot cops, like in the show Almost Human. The old 'if you have nothing to hide' argument can be put both ways. Why not allow or expect cameras all over the place recording everyones activities, not just the cops. How many crimes occur when the police, good or bad, aren't anywhere nearby. Think of all the crime we could eliminate or be able to prosecute successfully. Can't wait for the drone video cameras to fill the skies of the GTA.

When (not if) bodycams become reality for cops I'll be sure to rub your nose in it, rockie ;)
