I hate to get all Nerdy, but I have to admit, the Borg story-line was the best thing in Star Trek ever (yes, better than Khan) and there is a lot of potential there. Ideas of body horror, loss of self, political commentary, fear of the Other, etc etc.

Room for remakes to match our time, like the Body Snatchers has done.

Please forward this to JJ Abrams.

i hope not; the borg were meant to be a nemesis for TNG, the timeline was about 100 years after Kirk & co

then again, the ST reboot has already messed plenty of things up, imo, talking to old spock for one

and there was the movie with Picard and Kirk (Stewart and Shatner), another publicity stunt

im all for publicity stunts. who really keeps track of all the details of star trek, really. if it'll spice up the series. but they really need to start putting in something fresh, instead of just rehashing old stuff.

they made the borg more prevalent in voyager more of a re-occurring enemy/ally. though voyager had its weak points at least they showed the borg home area in the delta quadrant.

as for a movie, it would be cool to see the borg return. this reboot is like an alternate time line or something.

Okay. ..I'm with you on 7, but Torres ? ....nope, I'll substitute Kes, and Janeway is not getting undressed, she'll be in a latex version of her uniform though offering encouragement. Actually, she can play with The Borg Queen for my amusement.

The Borg was, is the perfect enemy..ruthless, cunning, almost impossible to stop. I wouldn't mind if the rebooted ST used that as a story line.....just stay away from the Ferengi. ..

Hate to be a nerd here, but Kes dies before 7 of 9 becomes part of the crew. Besides, Torres is hot, what are you talking about? lol

I agree. What made Voyager so good was not just the excellent character development (except maybe Harry Kim and his stupid clarinet) was the Borg plot with Species 8472.

Picard turning into a Borg was also amazing, especially the episode with his brother dealing with the aftermath.

The Borg plot goes beyond fear of the Other, but also forces us to face how much we value our humanity when the very nature of our way of life is threatened.

I for one look forward to more Borg plots in the future.

Kes didn't die. She moved on, away from Voyager.

I for one, hated the Borg in Voyager. TNG built them up as an almost unstoppable force that drives a fear in you when you see that cube ship. Voyager made them seem like an alien of the week.

I don't get how Voyager out-smarted the Borg to survive, but how will some hot-head with pre-TOS tech do it?

I agree with Terminator. This new reboot needs to stand on it's own. I was soooo disappointed with the last film. I didn't mind throwing in little references to the original series in the first re-make, but "into darkness" just had too many, that it became cliche.
