(Yes, yet another Rob Ford thread :) )

Seriously.. I can't believe the level of outrage over this comment. The guy's smoked crack, drove drunk, assaulted his staff, and even had them run personal errands (like buying booze).. and this is what people are upset about?!

(see: http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2013/11/15/rob_fords_low_blow_against_women_mallick.html)

Give me a fucking break. Was this comment inappropriate in the context? Yes. But amongst adults? C'mon..

i guess you missed the part where he said it on camera in a scrum. It wasn't in a fucking locker room. It was on the record, addressed to the public. Think about that for a moment.

more to the point, he can be a complete fucking oaf all he wants. This comment brought his wife into the fray, and was very personal and private in nature. That crossed yet another line.

even his apologists and "he can do whatever he wants in his own time" diehard fans can't rationalize the incredible lack of judgment apparent in his comment.

The media made these allegations public.

The mayor claimed to have slept with the now-former staffer and lewdly told her that night, “I'm going to eat you out” and “I banged your pussy,” Ransom told police.
Double standard, much? Of course, this was the Toronto Star..

If anyone has posted this link already I apologize.........I think it's hilarious. Love me some Jon Stewart! :)

I wonder how many vodka and purple gatorades it took for him to come up with that one liner. I feel for the guy, when he sobers up this nightmare is going to be 1000x worst than it was the day after, and for it to be documented worldwide... addiction is a very very difficult battle but to have your demise so documented in a wide range of languages formats and prints, I feel for the guy

I just wish he would admit to his alcohol dependency and seek help because it will be the only way he has a fighting chance of remaining in a somewhat respectable position... to think he guzzled his political career away and then pissed it down the drain by defending himself.. it is going to be a very long hard road for the guy

Yeah, I think the public reaction to the comment was also overblown
Inappropriate sure. Another example of his startlingly bad judgement? Sure
But anti-woman, not really

Mallick (the reporter in the Toronto Star) seems to have an excessively idealized version of how men talk. She seems to think that sex is only referred to in bland and polite among men. Of course most men don't talk about eating their wife's pussy to the media, but there's a fair amount of graphic sex talk between guys, just like there's a fair amount of graphic sex talk among women. Some guys don't about sex, and that's fine, but alot of guys do, and it's not disrespectful to women, it's just how men talk. Doesn't excuse misogyny, but that comment, aside from being inappropriate, wasn't misogynist, IMHO
Mallick needs to get down off her high horse

Mallick also quotes Karen Stintz as complaining that as a result of Ford's outburst, she will have to explain, "crack" and "pussy" to her kids. I wonder if Stintz explained her breast implants and gratuitous display there of, to her kids already?

I too love a nice fish taco, but Rob is probably lying again when he says he never made that comment. He's lied and denied everything else until proof showed up, then "sorry".
This kind of taco talk is normal amongst men, but in public to the media, by a civic leader? Incredible lack of judgement...the man has lost what little mind he ever had!

Back to the drug thing. Maybe they should enforce regular drug testing for all our police officers/ counsellors and members of chamber?

Are you smoking the same crack as RoFo? The allegations involve his treatment of a member of his city-paid staff. The fact that he allegedly made inappropriate remarks outside of business hours makes it "ok" in your mind?

should i I assume that you are in the 34% of torontonians who still believe and support him?

(Btw, you should check out the Sun. Eat crow much?)

Some guy allegedly eats pussy at home? OMG!!!!! Somebody think of the children!

Certainly Ford's comment was inappropriate, but the mainstream media reaction and city council reaction is beyond ridiculous. The feigned "shock" and "disgust" at his "graphic sexual language" is itself laughable... as if we don't hear the same and worse on TV and in the movies on a daily basis.

Watch the video of the press after he makes this statement for how they, and probably most people, really feel about it. They laugh, joke, are all smiles. The inappropriateness of the comment was surprising and amusing, not stark and traumatizing like the "viewer discretion advised: explicit language!" warnings that you see in the edited news reports. Listen to the guy at the end say clearly "I love that guy!". This whole thing is much more about entertainment and spectacle than news.

I'm talking specifically about the brouhaha about Ford's pussy comment. Not about the larger issue of his crack smoking, etc.

It's hypocritical for the media to get all up in arms about Ford saying: "it says that I wanted to eat her pussy" and denying the accusation.. when the media used the exact same words to level said accusation against Ford.

No big deal amongst men in private, but the fact that he said this in public, on the job , at city hall, to the media, proves that he is insane and unfit for his duties.
