I just bought Bridgestone Blizzak's from Costco. Ordered them online, tires delivered to the store, rims to my house. Got an email when they were delivered to the store, called them up and booked a time. Was in and out of there in an hour on a Sunday. Tire storage is an issue for a lot of people, but I also wouldn't trust the places that say they will store them for you. I've seen some of them and their setups and can't imagine how they can guarantee you will get your wheels back.
The OK ties store I use has their storage unit across the road. It's just a warehouse that they us to store their stuff. Can't go around thinking about all the bad stuff that 'could' happen, it'll wreck your day. BTW, i store mine in my garage, cheaper.

No no, no RM, spinners.

It's okay, they're 28 and legal.
Oh... forgive my mistake on a forum devoted more to my preferred type of spinner. :eyebrows:

(Granted- this IS a thread about tires, so my apologies... I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions... :D)

Meh......snows are over-rated and I'm from Buffalo.....:eyebrows:

Haven't used snow tires in ~30 years, and haven't had any snow related accident in ALL that time, knock on wood....:)
The fact that you haven't had an accident in 30 years doesn't mean winter tires are overrated. I was hoping I didn't have to post this video again but it seems some people don't understand simple physics.

Every time it snows I invariably get held up behind a bunch of cars who can't make it up a hill because they have all season tires. The other benefit of winter tires is you have a much greater chance of avoiding all these idiots.

I'll bet the majority of accidents during a snowfall involve cars with all season tires.

I'll bet that a lot of them would be SUVs who think they are invincible

Drugs are illegal, but ATM machines are open twenty-four hours a day. Twenty-four hours a day. For who? Who the fuck is it open for? Have you ever taken out three hundred dollars at four o'clock in the morning for something positive? Shit, when you press that machine at four o'clock in the morning, I think a psychiatrist should pop up on the screen and go, "Come on, man, save your money, man. Don't buy drugs, buy some rims. They spinning, nigga, they spinning, they spinning, nigga, they spinning.

Found Bramalea Tire prices to be very reasonable. Costo also, but the selection is limited.

If you just want to get it over I agree with these to places. I would include Ok Tires as well. All three would give you a decent price and steer you in the right direction. Tell the shop you're going to your concerns about driving in the winter and what you hope to get out of the tires. They should give you some decent advice about which tire will meet your needs.

I like a small little family run outfit, Joycitytires, they advertise on Kijiji. I got a set of Gislaved Nordfrost for my car for 535, installed by swapping onto rims.

First thing don't go to canadian tire. If you do expect to pay 25% more right off the bat and have them fuck it up 3 times before installing the correct size etc...

Second, best bang for your buck is a set of general altimax arctic, 2nd would be michelin x ice xi2 or xi3.

600-700 with rims for sedans installed, 900-1000 with rims for most suvs installed.

2 places to call would be tires23 or brampton tire world.

Finally make sure you check the tire's age, don't take anything over half a year old. Most people don/t know that tires have a shelf life of about 6 years.

I use to sell wheels and tires for a specialty shop so I know the importance of winter tires for snow and ice grip. I also recommend tires23.com. They are the best priced on tires and are very careful not to damage your rims during installation. I have large summer wheels and only trust them to swap tires. If you're in the east end, call 2nd Time Around (tirestires.com). They also have great prices, friendly staff and do good work.

Just curious.....

Let alone the fact that pekkerhead doesn't drive anywhere but his hood, that would make sense, yet the regular world does drive outside of metropolitan Buffalo.
Pray tell us all, what snows are on your Segway blackcock???.....:eyebrows:

LOL!!!
Oh I understand simple Physics all right....
Was taught that in Driver Ed back in the 60s!....;)

Perhaps that was a main reason for NOT having any snow related accidents in over 30 years....

I think these black steel rims do not exist for cars like BMW, Merc etc. Right?
Not often used on higher end cars b/c they often need larger wheels 17 or 18"
and
1. Owners like nicer rims on their nicer cars to match
2. Larger wheels are need to clear brakes,
3. not as much cost savings to goto steelies
4. Larger steelies get heavy compared to alloys
5. Sometimes they are harder to find in sizes

I have always used Steelcase tires (404 and Steeles) or Simply Tire (Keele and Finch)
Can't go wrong and prices are decent.

For the OP if you are confused by all the options, just call them and explain your situation and they'll give you some simple choices, just pick your budget. DO NOT buy from your car dealership unless you enjoy getting raped and paying double for the same
