If Ford is not getting charged criminally, and if the video has no relevance to the Lisi case, there's no reason for cops not to release the video to the public

I do think cops should release that video now though,. Its kinda unfair to Ford not to. Who knows, maybe there's a small chance its weed Ford is smoking (although I think thats highly unlikely).

Fords lawyer wants Chief Blair to resign....LOL

I agree completely with your first two points. It may indeed be reasonable to speculate that if Mayor Ford was indeed smoking anything in the so far alleged video tape, it may have been a little weed. And so what...? If all this happened- it happened in Mayor Ford's private life and had- so far as it's known and seems likely- nothing to do with any impropriety in his capacity as Mayor of Toronto. Police Chief Blair should remain silent and withhold any wish for Mayor Ford's resignation on this issue as the matter is now before the Courts. Sincerely, Jon .

In my view, Posts #: 5332 and 5333 should be considered spurious- at best- and disregarded. Sincerely, Jon . Writer's edit: I meant to say Post #'s : 5331 and 5332 in this original post. I regret the error. Sincerely, Jon .

Idiotic posts like those are standard operating procedure for that guy.

The best approach, as opposed to picking and choosing, is to disregard all his posts, other than for a good laugh.

LOL was my response as well. I also LOL'd when Ford said he couldn't discuss it because it was before the courts.

The Sun has three editorials up on this issue (on of which it passes off as news) and two of the three call on Ford to either resign or take a leave of absence.

Even if it turns out that he was smoking weed, which yes seems unlikely, he has dragged the city through months of this nonsense by lying.

I agree with the Sun editorial today that said this was his last chance to come clean and admit he had a problem. They suggested he could have fessed up, done a few months in rehab and then challenged the upcoming election. Instead he just he kept lying.

However, the thing might run deeper than has been reported, he may have drug culture in his veins, all his friends, so it may be tough for him to walk away from it.

You appear to have had your feelings hurt with your discovery that Mayor Ford lied about something in his personal- not public- Life. That you feel personally offended by this has been duly noted... However, since there is no evidence so far that there is any indication that any inproprety ocurred in his role as a public servant then, and therefore, your other perspectives should be dismissed as spurious and irrelevant. Sincerely, Jon .

In your opinion....... But thank you for sharing your feelings with us all. Take care. Sincerely, Jon .
Can I just comment on how hilarious your double standard is..

To wit, on one hand you believe that homosexual behaviour is hazardous to the public safety and that homosexuals are engaged in a deviant lifestyle which puts everyone at risk, including you. Essentially you judge homosexuals on what they do in their private lives and believe that it is essential to their character. Despite (and I'm not going to get drawn into this debate again, and please don't do your incredibly condescending 'see Post '#' in thread 'x'. Quoting yourself does not advance your argument) the fact that you were unable to produce a shred of scientific evidence that what homosexuals do in their private lives endangers you personally as a (presumably) heterosexual male or the heterosexual population in general

Yet on the other hand, we have Rob Ford who was elected by the people of Toronto to represent them and who the people who voted for him, placed their collective trust in. He has lied, lied, lied the entire time he has been in office, has done frankly a terrible job executing that public office, and has engaged in behaviour (smoking illegal drugs, hanging out with known criminals, engaging in abusive behaviour while intoxicated in public etc etc) that most people would call 'deviant'. He has attempted to destroy the credibility of media outlets, and of individual reporters, misled the public, and has even engaged in physical confrontations with people. And, some feel, that this is the least of what he's done, particularly in this case where acts of violence have been committed in response to this tape. Yet you turn a blind eye and say 'oh it was probably weed' or 'oh who cares if one of Toronto's most prominent civic representatives is drunk in public, that's his private life and we shouldn't care'
So, you judge an entire section of the population on what they do behind closed doors, and condemn them for living a deviant life, and yet you refuse to judge a man who has repeatedly engaged in embarrassing and criminal acts in public?

It would be funny, how much of a hypocrite you are if it wasn't so sad

Actually a big issue with me now is why did Lisi continue to keep a copy of the video on his computer. It was on a phone and he obviously transfered it. He was supposed to get it presumably and destroy it. He didn't.
At this point I don't care about the Mayors personal life. But now we have a public official who may have been in a position to be blackmailed. And he walked into this situation himself. His ability to govern has been comprimised now. We can't take any initative he might bring to table at face value. Is someone pulling his strings?
I supported the Mayor and his policies as I felt they were the best direction for the city at this ttime.
I still support the policies. But I can't support the man. Not any longer.

Well he deleted it. The police recovered it by restoring his deleted files. He probably just wasn't smart enough to realize he needed to destroy the hard drive to make it really gone.

(There are some software tools that claim to delete securely but for something like this I would have used power tools.)

Still. Why was it on the hard drive in the first place. He must have transfered it. I don't know if he was subject to pressure from Lisi but at this point the possibility has completely removed any hope of governance. No councillor will vote with him. I want the policies to continue. They can't with him. The cultural change in city business can continue. But not with him.

Thank god I'm leaving on vacation. I need to avoid the news for a week and hope I come back to see an old clip of his resignation.

No one goes to a "known crack house" to sit with known crack dealers and use a crack pipe to smoke weed.

They look different, they are smoked differently, it would be quite obvious that what's in the pipe is crack.

Denial, anger, bargaining, depression acceptance.
You've got to move on, acutus. You should get mad at Ford for lying to you, for insulting your intelligence, for using you as one of his many enablers.

HEYHEY.. Are you inclined to suggest that the police now have it out for Ford??? What benefit would there be, for the police, for making this shit up??

If the video was just a fake (or just him smoking pot) then why was Lisi trying to extort it from people? Additionally, why go to any trouble of lying about it? Mayor Ford has already been caught smoking pot, as well he fully admitted to smoking plenty of it when asked recently.. So why lie about this one particular incident??

As for the dingbat who babbled something about the "Homo Left" who had it out for the mayor.. Get a grip.. It appears, now, that the conspiracy was by Ford and/or his entourage to COVER UP the tape by Ford, not by the "Homo Left" to insinuate that the tape existed.

The two issues that you have excitedly raised are distinct from one and other. Homosexual behaviour causes a deadly, infectious, incurable and completely preventable anal disease that has affected the entire World in a profoundly destructive way. Mayor Rob Ford may likely have engaged in recreactional drug use in his private life in which there is, so far, no evidence of any inpropriety in his capacity as a public servant. Sincerely, Jon .
